[ I wonder why they haven't put a slightly more substantial "windscreen" on. Could it be that they would then need to fit wipers/washer etc.? I feel this will really limit the practicality of the car.]

I think that the new 3 wheeler would benefit from the bubble that was fitted to the messerschmitt car of the 60's and 70's

AQM...have you looked at Davida Helmets? More retro than the Cromwell but leather lined and beautifully made.

Yup, Davida helmets are good looking, but they seem so '60s for some reason and none of them seem to be able to fit a flip up visor

Yes, okay, in the real world, they're still good looking, so I might try out a few of them for fit and function and test if I react to them.

I'm a child of the 60's ....well more like a teenager...... so I love my Davida. Sadly my classic bikes gone and it doesn't look so good with a 1200GS so its just an ornament in my study now

Getting back to the OP's question about whether he'd need a motorcycle license to drive one, here in California the answer seems to be 'yes,' according to my dealer. I expect the requirement will vary from state-to-state and country-to-country.

Regarding helmets, it seems that a simple leather aviator's cap and goggles would give plenty of sun and rock protection. But again, local laws may require something more serious.

In Sweden you are allowed to drive a Three Wheeler on both a car and a motorcycle license.

With seatbelts there is no legal need of a helmet (but if you consider your head as a vital part you are thanks G free to use one).

Only need for a registration plate in the rear (M3W will be registered as motorcycles here). You can also buy your personal registration plate, maximum 7 letters/numbers. What about having FIGHTER on a green one with shark teeth? Any other suggestions suitable for a M3W?

You are also allowed to pull a trailer. The towing hook need to be approved and the trailer having a maximum weight of half the towing vehicle. No need of having the trailer registered (amazingly enough). Well think about a small lightweight teardrop caravan in polished aluminum behind...Europe here I come!

I found great news today – neither a special motorcycle-class driver's license nor a helmet is required to operate a trike in California. Therefore, the 3W is exempt here!
