Have an unusual problem - well the first time its ever happened on this car. None of the lights, indicators, brake lights or wipers work - any inspirational ideas? Have checked the fuses which are all ok and nothing has been worked,on etc since it worked fine last time. The engine starts and runs fine.
thanks
Taffy

do you mean that the outside of the cable has either worn away, etc to such an amount that it shorts out? I just cant understand why the fuse never went? Is there any method in trying to find the problem or just luck? where in the fusebox was your problem?
sorry about all the questions but it seems a daunting task !!
regards
taffy

I wouldn't worry he never uses them.

The force is strong with this one.

Taffy not sure how they are set up but have you checked the relays.

Taffy, have you run the battery down?

A dead battery in the Aero can send the ECU into a frenzy.

Resetting the ECU clears this issue.

hi Simon
Actually waiting to get a new wheel meant the battery went flat and the car was jump started. Is resetting the ECU a job I can do or is it a factory/dealer job?
regards
Taffy

You can do it.

I'll try to explain it.

First, make sure your battery is charged - trickle charge for 24-hours is best

The car should be turned off, cars out of the ignition before doing the next steps.

Second, pop the bonnet on the drivers side (on a RHD) car; in front of the passenger compartment, you should see a large metal box. At the front of this box will be a black switch with a red push button.

Press the red push button and a small arm will pop out. This is resetting the ECU.

Leave the car for 5-minutes (do not push the arm back into the side)

After 5-mins, push the arm back into the side of the black switch.

Close the bonnet and start the car.

This will have reset the ECU and should resolve any lights, cabin fan, indicator issues.

I can take some photos if the above doesn't make sense.

Thanks Simon, I will give it a go in the morning. Seems to be easier than finding a "short" in the wiring loom !
