John V6, great! - hope I aim for the same longevity. This Devol thing intrigues me. Some say the system is pure crap, they seize, wear out in no time etc .Others, like you (and Button, I believe?) seem to go on forever - perhaps me too. The handbook says greasing every 5000 miles which is quite seldom, and Lorne Goldman states the Devol cars needs greasing more seldom than other Mogs. I think the whole thing is rather contradictory. The experiences with Devol seems to be extremely different, wonder why. To be on the safe side I grease aprox. every 1500 km, so we will see what the future brings

Welome form near Munich!!!
So we are at least two fro that direction.
I am commuting between Lenggries and Ingolstadt.
If I said I could offer you to show nipples ... it should be politically correct - is it?

@Madmax: a 3.2 Coupe, a 3.2 Conv, a 993 Conv, a 993 Targa, another 993 Conv and at least a 964 Speedster. Because thats the ultimate Porsche for me, i stopped Porsches and purchased a V8 Vantage Convertible. But too perfekt for me, so i let build a 356 Speedster, exactly as i dreamed of. This was the perfect driving experience, but the quality was not soooooo good, very handmade, VERY ;-) so my last car before the Morgan was an AMG SLK 55 from 2016, but much too perfect, i sold i after 3 month. And no the Morgan, i ll keep it much longer. This were my last 25 fun car year..... by the way: i love Vespa and own and drive at the moment 5 of them ;-)
@Mkiss: little common ride this year into the Alps?
@All: Many thanks for the welcome and your help!

Welcome to the group Fraenkie, I am new here also. My Morgan is a +8 from 1985/6 I suspect your Morgan must be a little more sophisticated than mine if you think that a 356 seemed "hand made" compared to your Morgan. It was the hand made aspect of Morgan`s that attracted me to them.. Before Morgan I owned Porsche cars also and am still a fan of the air cooled models, I ran Porsche as fun cars for 10 years or so and owned my Morgan for about 16 years. I hope your Morgan gives you a great many happy motoring miles..

Hallo Fraenky,
Ansonsten: happy morganeering!
Gruß René
Hello,
also from me a "welcome in the club". Really, the nipples need a little TLC. And also a good greasegun is helpful.
There are four nipples on the frontaxle. One on each side on the top, where the slidingtube is fixed, one on each "sliding axle". The lower ones, you can see when you have a full turn of the steering. (right wheel full to the right, left full to the left). Than you can have a straight look at it. A light and some cleaning would help.
At the lower nipples, be careful, don't overgrease them. The grease would come out and you get your brake also greased. At the top, you mustn't aware so much. But too much the grease can stop the sliding.
By the way: it's time for me to do it the next time. And: have a look for some ideas for a pair of homemade gaitors.
Greets René
