Black looks stealthy, contemporary, and unique. Chrome has major bling, but comes at a price. Which would you choose, and why?

I think black has it. The black wire wheels, arches, exhaust pipes will seamlessly merge. Having said that, a little chrome at the front might be nice. There is also a black cover to the air manifold. Chrome could be gauche. But when it comes to the decals .........!

Love the black.
However, the chrome on the engine does make it look a bit special.
I'd vote black wheels, roll hoops, mud guards and exhaust shield and chrome exhausts and engine details.

I'd vote black all the way with very, very little chrome. If I had a choice, I'd vote some metal showing, but that the metal be (brushed/satin/matte) nickel finished like they did in turn of the last century on yachts. The nickel finish would go well with both matte and solid colours.
The exhaust pipes on mine will be matte black, and I foresee painting some of the glossy bits matte too (roll bars and exhaust shields as well as the air filter cone).
I really don't like glossy reflective surfaces, so of course, the steering wheel needs to be matte grey or matte black as well.

Black with a little bit of nickel plating in place of the chrome would be my choice. With black distressed leather interior!

With black distressed leather interior! Distressed – seriously, can you order that??? Has anyone seen the actual 18 leather color samples in person?

I think the chrome looks good, just its not for me. The black will fit the olive drab look I am planning on. Plus I really love the look of nickel plating, actually prefer it over chrome. Also prefer the look of raw aluminum over chrome. Black and basic metal colors will age interestingly with use, and use is what I am intending here. Chrome strikes me as more of a "Harley in the living room" thing, hehe..

So far, black seems the near-universal preference. Interesting!

Well, the more I see of the black the better it looks. The chromed pipes will also very quickly turn discoloured from heat.
Are you sure that distressed leather is possible for he M3W? My dealer said no because it was more sensitive to moist.
Any info/rumours about:
Cockpit cover and how to attach it? Luggage rack?

Gents, I am a little confused about what the "Standard Car" looks like. From what I have read and seen so far, the config is like this: - Nickel coloured cowl - chrome cylinder heads - Black gloss roll hoops and lights - polished exhaust pipes and heat shield (polished seems to be chrome as well?!)
