I must say on the 3.7l demo I drove in 2018 the hang was far more pronounced than on the 2019 car I borrowed a few weeks ago.

I agree with you, sometimes on here it's almost an Emporers New Clothes scenario to me but the one thing that puzzles me is the findings of JohnV6 and others, that being the differences between different cars of the same era as the ECU is reputedly locked this suggests otherwise. Adrian and Heinz ended up with tractable cars as well with factory input so I can only conclude that someone is pulling the wool over the customers eyes unless pushed which I find a little sad as it is spoiling the expected enjoyment for some.

If there is another explanation for the rev hang and not rev hanging cars I'm all ears.

I don't know but in one it was it was a pain & the other difficult to spot. All subjective of course.
The 2019 car had 300 miles on it so maybe I was more gentle on the go fast pedal but not by much up to 3-4k when normally in Roadsters the beast takes over.

Interesting observations, are they totally different to drive from your S1 and if so how I think yours has the Getrag box doesn't it which will be excellent.

Yes they are different. I have the Getrag box which is excellent.
Firstly the ride is different with the 5 link rear.
The seats were recliners & I & found them less comfortable and also higher.
Clearly there is more torque & power but it is not really generally usable.
6th gear is nice for cruising but then the car seems to like 80 mph and with speedo out of sight I could easily loose my license. I couldn't live with the speedo where it is.

Really interesting to read your comparison John, I haven't read a back to back on the two models before and surprised to hear about the seats being less comfortable. I guess the five link rear end must make things feel a lot more stable when applying the power and undulating surfaces so a bonus. I recall looking at Adrian's car and having the same thoughts about the speedo.
I was really interested to hear your view being a long term Morgan driver and that if you had seen a real plus in changing you maybe would have. The S1 Roadster seems to be the one to keep. Thanks.

Yes it is.

On my previous S1 the seat base side bolsters were rock hard & used to induce Sciatica on long drives, although the 3.7 seats look identical there's a little more 'give' and I don't have the same issue. The new seats are also lower as they are not set on timber packers

we have the non recliner bucket seats and I guess the bolsters on the edge of the 3.7 seats seem odd to us. Also as new I guess they are a bit harder.
