Well I was thinking of taking the 4/4 out for a spin earlier while the sun was shining. Now that ST Water have completed a meter fit under the pavement I could go, but it is again, so I shall just curl up with a good book.

Took the 4/4 to the garage, 1 mile away, to fill up; 20 miles later, arrived home. East Devon currently looking very nice in the sunshine, with all the autumn foliage. Car back in my garage now. Mug of tea and the newspaper for me.

I'm not a horse person, but the Morgan experience of taking care of things, plus the smell of leather creates a bond which must be similar to what you get with a horse. As a horse owner with a Morgan I have to disagree. Our 4/4 has never made it necessary to set an alarm for 06:30am in order to shovel its byproducts into a wheelbarrow and cart them to a muck heap. Also, new tyres for the Morgan are not required every 6 weeks - unlike shoes on my horse. And the Morgan never asks for treats when it goes well.

My Morgan has also never stood on the side of my foot, made me collapse like a sack of spuds with an accidental twitch of its hoof, or sent me flying over the bonnet due to a plastic bag in the hedgerow............

Ggggggrrrrrrrrr. No. Am lying with leg in plaster, elevated, following longish op under general anaesthetic yesterday on ankle/tendons. This plaster will last for minimum two weeks. This likely to be followed by at least 8 weeks in a plastic boot. The whole time needing crutches to get about. Makes going to the bog a whole new challenge..... So I am sore, bored, fed up, probably smelly, unable to book skiing holiday, do any work (which I enjoy) but worse, much worse, than this, I can't drive Florence for the entire period. I am not looking for sympathy re the operation (caused by combo of genetics, running, squash and taekwondo when younger) but defo gonna go mad without getting behind that beautiful mota lita and screaming off down the road for next few weeks. I know I'm being selfish coz it's not life threatening and there are people much worse off than I, but..... Gggggggrrrrrrrrr 💩🤕😷😤😖😫😩💉🛌 Thankyou for listening HB

Drove Tarka to Old Sarum Airfield... for my day at the Collection. Great morning, fine afternoon. I shall be taking the long way round on the drive home, make the best of the dry day. I'll be going out on Friday as well, in the evening, so I'll finally find out how good the new LED lights are!
In a couple of weeks Tarka goes to Williams for a week, for the annual service and time suspension upgrades.

HB You could always ask Mrs HB to take you out in Florence....

I would show her your post, but it may well be my last post (pun intended). Am a rubbish patient and am testing her to the limits I sense 😇 But thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately at this stage really not allowed to "de"elevate the foot so not allowed off the horizontal. Guess I could try resting it on top of the windscreen (if I could still bend like that....) I can sympathize last winter had a replacement knee fitted. Not allowed to drive for ten weeks. But believe me the time passes quickly. And it's a good time to play the sympathy card and get some easy time.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.
