What I find interesting is that the hoses are not melting while being pressed onto the cylinder fins.

What I find interesting is that the hoses are not melting while being pressed onto the cylinder fins. I was thinking about this as well; although it appears that the fuel hoses coming up from the tank rest against the rear of the engine. I was surprised to find that.

With the cooling kit the engines run cooler than some people seem to think.
When they released the Urban Cooling Kit upgrade in 2014; MMC published a comparative test based on an approx. 30 mile test route which ended with about 5 mins of idle.
Without the fan the engine temp at the end of idle was 243 deg C but with the fan was only 117 deg C at the end of the idle period.

Thanks for the numbers Chris👍 Some more from my car: The ECU records the all time peak values and also those for the last 4 trips. When I last dumped the records the all time peak engine temp was 209 deg C which would have been before I had the cooling fan fitted and when the engine went into skip fire whilst stuck in traffic. The last 4 trips included a 20+ min delay in traffic in well over 30 deg C ambient temp. During this the peak engine temp was 115 deg C

No odd spacer hoses on mine either. Does anyone feel we should add them? I haven’t encountered any problems without them...
