Watts = Voltage squared divided by resistance. Using 14V and 750Ω = 0.216 watts.

Hi everyone. I am new to this site so apologies if the question I ask has been answered. I recently bought a 3W and as everyone no doubt knows the petrol gauge is clearly inaccurate. I understand that a longer sender is available from the same manufacturer. do you know who it is and for what to specifically ask?

Thanks

Andrew

However, be aware that this is not the answer to all your problems! Best to zero the trip meter when you fill up and start thinking of filling up again at around 200 miles. 250 miles at a pinch...

The trip meter method worked perfectly for me all summer. You just have to be disciplined about resetting. It soon becomes an ingrained habit. Far better than relying on a potentially misreading fuel gauge.

And when you are filling the tank don’t try to stuff more fuel in with multiple clicks with the gas pump. It will cause check engine light to come on and dump fuel into the carbon evaporator filter. Not sure if it hurts anything but is a pita for sure.

...unless your trip odometer is unreliable like mine is. Mine jumps by 20 miles, sometimes 40. I've not seen anyone else with this problem though.

Since the speedometer is so far off the mileage figures must also be off. I have a 5mph difference at 35mph and a 7mph at 70mph checked with a gps. Recalibration that dark speedometer might help keep tract of fuel usage.

Motor vehicle speedometers have a 5-8% variance factor on the lower side built in and GPS is around 3%, if you are caught speeding then you really are by at least 5%, assuming the Police radar is properly calibrated!!!!!
