I already offer the S1 ball joints
They are screwed and bonded into aluminium carriers also
I only need a s2 onwards suspension upright to identify and source the ball joint....

You are welcome to borrow the Coupe as it also needs front lower balljoints.

Well, the new uprights arrived, so Williams started the strip down.
They found that the upper joints were also shot, the hunt is on for new ones. MMC are out of stock.
I might get the car back at the end of next week, so 3 weeks away.
Then it is into winter.
Oh well... might SORN it until the spring.

Maybe they should come with grease nipples...….. LOL!...hindsight is a wonderful thing. Given the origins of the Aero suspension it isn't a big surprise it has a relatively short life: I'll bet the CX chassis is engineered for a much longer life and with easy to replace components!

If its any consolation Peter, the same issue is frequent on Ferrari cars. This outfit https://www.hillengineering.co.uk/ball-joints-boots have made good business out of supplying uprated components. The ball joints wont be special to Morgan but will be a standard item so its a matter of working out how to get the assembly to bits. and sourcing the ball joints.

So is this poor design, poor materials or poor protection from the elements?
It's been years since I had to change ball joints or track rod ends on ordinary cars, so I'm just surprised this happens.

I ran a VW Phaeton V10 for 110,000 miles and the front lower ball joints went. It weighed more than 2.5 tonnes and had a massive V10 iron block engine resting on them.
The Coupe has the same issue as Peters car at only 33,000 miles. It's not so difficult to work out the issue here.
The VW was £150 a side to replace on exchange and took two hours a side to fix.
I do hope the new CX is engineered to reflect issues like this.
