Actually it's a common occurrence for the Coop car park after periods of very heavy rain. The river is literally at the bottom of the car park, which is basically in the flood plain! I think it's the closest place to the river at that level; most of the nearby houses are a few feet higher up. The store itself was flooded a few months ago, and they had to junk lots of their stock. Ideally, they need to raise the car park somehow, and maybe put the store on stilts!

Another short run for bacon butties at the Speckledy Hen cafe at the top of Newlands Corner. Fantastic view south to the Surrey hills from there followed by a nice run back along the A25, great weather and dry roads, a 45 mile round trip.

Then spent the afternoon fettling the front number plate position after fitting the Librands badge bar.
The 100th anniversary badge is particularly short in the fitting area and sits too low in the bar, is there such a thing as an extension plate that would lift this up by an inch or so? If not then I’ll make one up from some ally bar.

What a great vehicle, I wonder if we could rent it for a TM outing? hide

Lovely weather for the VCC run yesterday. Mrs W and I watched from Crawley High Street and then followed the last of the cars down as far the A272.

I was very sad to read of the poor chap killed on the Motorway yesterday. It seems he took the M23 instead of the A23, in a car that could only do a maximum of 35mph.

Yes very sad. I miss going to the Jolly Tanners to see the terror on the drivers faces as they come down that hill with very poor brakes.

The pub also does a stompfingly good breakfast!

39 miles today - Lampeter for lunch, and then a nice circuit before getting back home. Not much rain, but plenty of wet stuff on the roads!
