Nice photos Craig. It’s good to see Brian’s SP1 again......I remember the day it was wheeled out for us all to see at the factory...and a photographer dropped his tripod against it 😳

I nearly went to the show but I had to do a trip to Colchester to see a classic boat restoration at the beginning of the week and the six hour journey back home put me off driving back down to Brum on the M6!

Have to say, this is the first time here on a Sunday and it’s much quieter than previous years Fridays and Saturdays

It’s remarkably quiet

Indeed but so did Gerald Ratner

I’m sure that any marketing or brand expert would make a very powerful case that the badge choice contributed in some way to its very quick demise and failure

The owners manual is a bit of a hoot as well, including gems such as:

"Upon cold starting, do not leave it idling while you rush indoors to pay a belated farewell to you wife, instead make a mental note henceforth to adopt a definite sequence of events prior to your morning departure. You will achieve substantially diminished wear from your engine, and deserve greater affection from your wife."

You have heard about the tortoise and the hare though Stewart?
The actual story and reason is......... The marque's badge was unusual in featuring a tortoise — a pet tortoise walked into the frame of an inaugural photo-shoot, taken in the grounds of the makers. Because of the irony (the slowness of tortoises) the animal was chosen as the emblem.

Just got home from a great day at the NEC.

Is it bigger this year than normal or am I just getting older, I was knackered walking around it all laugh2

Going on Sunday worked well, the traffic was light, it didn't rain all day and the show was so big there was plenty of room to move about rofl

I rode up on my motorbike, parking is free for motorcycles and they park right by the front door...win win. cheers

Staying overnight at the Genting Hotel at the NEC

So I find the Sports bar in the Casino to watch the football, sit in a booth on my own

A couple come by struggling to find a seat, so I shuffle round and invite them to sit at my table

Get talking and they are a couple from Ireland, Morgan owners and they have just today joined the MSCC on the NEC stand and bought a couple of mirrors off Jon Savage

It’s a small world

+1

And another “what lovely people Morgan owners are” story gets off to a good start.
