Mostly together and looking vaguely car-shaped again....once I'm passably confident the jigsaw will go back together I'll make and weld the small repair sections for under the doors and pull it all apart again to prep the panels for paint.

Woodwork has been tedious and unsettling for a hardened metal fan like me ...but definitely light at the end of the tunnel ..... it's been some compensation for the racing season being cancelled ..."it's an I'll wind" and all that ..... currently all held together with wedges and props and my entire stock of assorted clamps

At the risk of teaching my granny to suck eggs, and given that you well know the source of corrosion having welded in repairs, Just thought to mention that a nice finger of sealant around the edge of the front wings where they meet the bulkhead, as it seems logical that the rain will be forced into that area..? Perhaps all Trad Morgans have sealer in that area, but given the pics of corrosion damage I have seen, I wonder..? Happy to try to post a pic if it helps..

Indeed Luddite ..... even having nicely coated the mating faces of both the bulkhead and chassis/inner wings on assembly you can see that the wing itself will form a nice little water-holding trough where it skirts round the bulkhead ....I'm certainly going to fill that gap .... I did see a morgan with that gap filled with a neat sloping fillet of dum-dum that looked to do the job and would stay flexible and be easy to repeat if it looked at all suspect ....any thoughts on this approach ?

K, Not sure that dum dum as I knew it would stick and seal as well as sealer. I suspect any professional body sealer from a motor factor would be fine though perhaps Halfords may have it available in smaller tubes..

Kevin the chap who rebuilt his +8 prior to me buying it, ran his own bodyshop and had a rep for restoring and repairing Morgans over a number of years, apparently he seemingly did some work for MMC on occasion, thus when he rebuilt his +8 he knew all the potential problem areas and as a result new where to pay particular attention, which seems to have paid dividends over the years I have owned it.

How are thing going, are you still making progress?

Cheers ewn ...will check that out ..... still moving forward but nothing much that will obviously jump out from a photo ...will take some more when the body frame is in one bit and the dummy build is complete.

It's looking good. My bulkhead is going on soon with my frame. I try and post some picture when I have my written down instructions/password etc.
