Chris its not evident from your pictures but have you sealed the gap between the bulkhead & the body? This will reduce dust ingress & I suspect is the major reduction in noise from BB.

The pic is from Planenut but I sealed the rear bulkhead a few years ago.
I don't recall it making any difference to the bevel box noise but it reduced the dust and muck getting into the cabin

Dynamat and then sealing the area is definitely on my ToDo list. The first time I got under that tray in back I was not very happy with the mess, and has been noted it is working its way into the cockpit.

A further report on the Redline 80W250 bevel box oil after 2000 miles run to Switzerland and back. My conclusion is that it isn't the cure for a screeching M3W BB that was hoped for. In fact it may even be slightly noisier than the Redline Heavy ShockProof (pink) oil, once the bevel box is fully warmed up from a few miles of motorway driving. Not saying don't use it but it's not a cure for noisy bevel boxes.

+1 agree with Planenut about the Redline 80W250.
I'll be going back to Millers EP140

The redline changed the character of the whine, but has not eliminated it. It will do for now.

Dear all I have a new 2018 M3W since one year and have drive around 8500 km. I live in North of France and use if for meandering on the coast border and for driving in Belgium The bevel box was yealing a lot at 60 /80 km/h and I bought the bevel box vent from morgan custom net. Oil contend switched from 400 ml to around 830 ml and the sound decreased a lot ( Have tested it for 500 km, incredible, my hear were quiet) . No noise up to 80 /100 km /h, and lower sound. I have have modified to system to be able to fill it directly from my rear car boot. Filling is tricky and I heated the W 140 : pb of air that has to go out . Just some patience needed, It takes 30-60 min. Slow flow of heated oil ( W140 has a high viscosity @ 15°C ). Make me think that bevel box noise is more linked to the level of filling than of the quality of oil . Anyway the ride is now quieter :-) Have some pictures but not able to download - you can download it from hyplinks below https://www.dropbox.com/s/o7gqsx8nfr7t5tr/BB6.JPG?dl=0https://www.dropbox.com/s/98xfpnp08aionzk/BB2.jpg?dl=0https://www.dropbox.com/s/idws3hvhjc26i08/IMG_20191022_102457.jpg?dl=0https://www.dropbox.com/s/1mfzrmh0j2qdb5m/IMG_20190825_123547.jpg?dl=0Hope it will help you to go through this issue Note : Have also set up the oil cooler and the ventilator temporisation for summer - all fits and run perfectly . I m very happy with the reliabiliy of the M3W With warm regards from France Franck

I see that it is $129 plus shipping outside the US. Has anyone else tried it?

I have it and it does reduce the noise, but to be honest i sealed the bulkhead and dynamated everything to reduce the noise. I left the tubing from the new fill tube in a position that allowed me to blow into it to burp the oil into the bb thus speeding up the fill process. I used Royal Purple 75-140wt. I will post photos as soon as i get off the phone. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/11/10/BBvent.jpg) This attaches to the BB red vent instead of it. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/11/10/BBtubeAttachment.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/11/10/BBtubeRouting.jpg) This is the new fill point and vent. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/11/10/BBfillTube.jpg) This is the BB temperature with a passenger after running up a mountain chasing an Ace. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/11/10/BBtemp.jpg)
