I made the experience that regardless which tyre, good or bad, they all lose grip on such a lightweight car as a 4/4 when the temperature drops below 10 degrees celsius. That could be another reason as well and more so if it is just slightly wet on the tarmac.

Tyre release compound can be witnessed at some tyre places with the bay entrances being particularly slippy, had this happen in Andover also moulding whiskers can cause odd behaviour until worn off.

Steady, only some think my behaviour is odd!

1500 miles up now. The Vredestein Sprint Classics, took a while to settle. Their grip is not quite up to the Avon standard, but pretty good. I have to try quite hard to get them to lock up under braking. Emergency stops need care. Lateral grip is good. Have not found the limit, need a track day to find that.
Grip in heavy rain is good & so far no sign of aquaplaning.
Despite being the same size as the Avons their diameter must be slightly less as getting more ground contacts. Thank goodness for Cain’s rubbing plate.
