No, the way it was put to me was that this was a very positive move, and certainly the man we know whose been leading the development seemed really positive about it.

Yes more power and increased torque. Not that it seemed to need anymore.

Ah, okay, that puts me somewhat at ease, although if they got it cheaper, that would be very positive for them, not necessarily for us.

Damn it. I'm sort of glad I won't be having one of the first, but if things go as they usually go, I'll be proven utterly wrong. Here's to me being wrong!

LOL, sorry. It's just that my track record is pretty clear: Whenever my paranoia get's the best of me (call it the Apple Syndrome), I am wrong. Except with Apple.

The S&S web site is saying that the x-wedge engine will be used in the trike. Is that the engine you are referring to???

I looked on the site last night and it refers to the x wedge. But is also refers to some power mods for the x wedge including uprated cylinder heads.

My guess is that this whats going to be supplied to MMC out of the crate rather,as the capacity seems to be 2000cc.

Seems to be very good; and one would expect that they had to do several changes, as you said for the gearbox etc. So it's more or less a completely new design it seems. Personally I’m happy that they ended up with S&S and not Harley (there would be endless questions to the owners about 'do you have Harley trike' etc.; and everyone plus dog seems to be riding a Harley).

Well, this with the engine starts to be a bit confusing...

The HD-engine were heavily discusses in early speculations. Then we turned our heads towards S&S and the green and grey M3W prototypes showed in Geneva has got the S&S X-wedge engine (117cui, approx 1800 ccm). So also the black/grey driving prototype in the videos, or? Now talking about 2000ccm makes it even more exciting, but more or less just a tuned X-wedge?

Vibrations is a great challenge with a V2-engine. But S&S seems to have spent (at least) four years in developing the engine. Jay leno seems to be very pleased with the engine in his X-wedge bike. "-It's like sitting on a mechanical clock....")

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=969eir1VbeQ

But maybe putting a V2 together with a car gearbox is a more complicated set-up?

Insights/info/rumours about the engine....please post it!
