I just love comments from Morgan haters. They are so entertaining Really... I also enjoy all those enthusiastic comments about wind-stoppers, warm air gently warming the driver's neck, all kinds of electronic helpers, power windows, folding hardtops... ...and then I place my "hairy arse" into the seat of my Moggie... Sunny greetings, Ivo

I have driven a Dino myself. It was very (wonderfully!) noisy; the controls were heavy; the dogleg first gear took a little getting used to; the synchromesh was easily beaten requiring a double declutch going up the gearbox as well as down; the driving position couldn't be adjusted; the cabin got very hot and fumes from the engine often wafted in.
Personally it the most exhilarating drive I've ever had but judging by his views on the +8 I can't see that Telegraph journo getting on with one at all. I look forward to reading his report when it eventually gets fixed. (Interestingly, the one I drove was also unavailable on the original hire day due to mechanical failure.)

Come on guys, give Mr Holt a break, look at his photo, he's a child, he hasn't started shaving yet, I am sure when he reaches "a certain age" he will undoubtedly understand.

Great article. Should help keep the weak-kneed out of trouble and Morgan prices down for the discerning (i.e. us).

Sometimes older is better.... Todays cars tend to dull the sensations of driving. Computerised aids to replace the "feel" needed by the driver. The experience in my 4/4 is always a great one since I feel I am actually driving and not just steering a box on wheels. Whenever you see the "popular journalists" test driving then they turn the gagetry off to have fun. Yes there is a place for gadgetry and refinement of modern cars but I will not compare my Morgan to other cars I drive as its a fun experience not just a workhorse. Yes i like the variable setting on my Focus' steering, the ESP to prevnt skids etc. BUT in the 4/4 I get more fun and enjoyment from the pure driving experience. I wonder what this journo wouild have written had been given a pre-war Alpha 2 seater? Or a Bugatti etc? Is it just the Morgan name that he has preconceived ideas about? Did he actually drive it I wonder? Is he the type of journo who can only write critical articles? What driving ability does he have? Enough said for now. Let him earn his ££££ until he gets rumbled.

Dull sensations of driving? Some of the pool cars I've driven over the last couple of years seem remove any sensation whatsoever... For pure driving enjoyment I prefer my Mog (but not at night). If I want to do longer distances, with then the Boxster makes sense - I don't get earache about comfort (or lack of ) nor regular commnets about ease of entry and egress. It doesn't have lots of driver aids - ABS and a LSD, no traction control etc. Come the wintertime, it's Land Rover all the way (plenty of driving sensation there too ). Talking to one of our CoC at Prescott on Sunday (owns a prancing GG, 328?) he is hoping to get a run in a Dino owned by a BOC member - it's his dream Ferrari (Ferarri? neither look right, who cares? Prancing GG). When I mentioned the article he said the guy'd be lucky to carry much more than a T-shirt, underpants and a toothbrush... Cheers,
