We were having dinner last night with a couple of older friends in one of the Bars in the village where we have a house in Spain, a village of less than 700 people, 600 metres up in Inland Andalucia,.Our friend knowing of my Morgan, was relating a story about his days as an RAF conscript and the adventures they got up to in a colleagues old M3W. Later in the evening a British chap came up to the table, apologised for eaves dropping but said he heard us talking about Morgans and that is something he is interested in as well.
It turns out that he also has a house in the area, has over half a dozen 3 wheelers including 4 M3Ws and a couple of BSAs , a +8 and a Series one 4\4 as well as a number of 1930s Wolseleys. A very interesting fellow, who unfortunately took leave of us before we could get his name.

Shouldn't be impossible to track him down. Try asking at some of the local service stations.

Just the sort of random meeting that makes the car world so interesting.

We could extend this thread by telling more small world stories. Aviation, especially old aeroplane aviation, is very much like the classic car world so here's one of many stories from that other small world.

I used to meet a friend for beers in a Viennese pub. One day we were talking about cars but I was picking up snatches of conversation from the next table which suggested the two blokes there were pilots. Later, while pestering the porcelain, I realised the bloke next to me was one of the suspected pilots. I said, "you wouldn't be a pilot would you?" He said, "you wouldn't be KS would you? And you wouldn't own a white and green Auster!" Well blow me down. 30 years earlier we had learnt to fly with the same flying instructor in the same country town in NSW. He would occasionally drop in to the hangar where I restored the Auster and chat. He went on to fly for Emirates and was on a Vienna stop over. We've stayed in contact since and he's now restoring an Auster to fly during retirement.
