I am looking at/bidding on the 2018 M3W Heritage Edition currently on BaT. It is listed as being in Miami. Does anyone here know much about it? Thanks in advance, Dale

There was someone on here some time ago with a similar spec car but I cannot remember who. It looks good value if you can get it for anything close to that price. If you do buy it I would suggest dumping the cosmetic fishtails and getting a proper free flowing exhaust system to take full advantage of the cams and ECU, a waste of money with a standard exhaust. Also get the original headlight brackets to re-position the headlights to allow some cooling air to the engine.

I would plan to put the headlights back where they belong, for cosmetics, cooling the engine and not cooking the headlights. The fish tails are pretty. I might have to drive it with them for a while to decide if they are worth keeping or not. I assume from what I have read that a May 2018 build should be built pretty much to current specs. Are there any big changes in the last 18 months? I understand that this is a hand built English car with an engine design from the 1930s so I don't expect it to perform like a Toyota Camry, but it sounds like the recent M3Ws have significantly improved. Has that been your experience? Just FYI, I also have a 1981 Fiat 2000 Spider, a 1964 Honda C77 Dream and a 1976 BMW R90S in my garage so I am accustomed to the attraction of and occasional challenges of unique vehicles. The M3W's quirks are part of the charm for me. Any advice would be appreciated.

My Morgan is from the same period and no issues at all. My headlights were moved back to the original spot and believe if you do it yourself it is only a couple hundred dollars for the bracket. The fishtails look cool but the added weight on the pipes and if these are not stage 1 pipes I would replace them. I upgraded my cams and ecu as well so don’t understand not swapping out the air cleaner and exhaust first. Mine was factory with stage 1 and apparently that is the biggest performance improvement. I loved what the cams did though. Check out garage 56 for new pipes and an air cleaner.

I am a bit of a fiddler on mine so a lot of changes we are making on the later models are more about pride of ownership vs anything else.

The Morgans are great fun and give you something to look forward to. I have a few winter projects planned but keeps me off the streets kind of thing vs anything else.

A 2018 US spec car should be relatively well sorted from new with no big recent changes. The X-Wedge engine is only about 10 years old from a production point, if not basic design. When I said to dump the fishtails I was referring more to the system they are attached to, the standard exhaust system is very restrictive and should be replaced by something free flowing. You can put the fishtails on the end of a free flowing system and have a pretty, efficient exhaust.

Or just remove the first baffle from the stock pipes and keep the fishtails! Great looking car, although that white leather would be a pain to keep clean.

Lost on BAT 3 times over 3 different M3Ws for sale. Snipers galore in the last minutes of bidding. Good Luck...this will be a great buy.

The good thing about BAT is that the clock resets to two minutes if a bid is placed in the last two minutes of an auction. Unlike ebay, where a sniper can come in and outbid you at the last second, if someone tries that on BAT, the clock resets and you get another chance to bid, if you are watching the auction. I sold a couple cars on BAT and the experience was good. The fee to the seller is set and the buyer pays a percentage to BAT as a buyer's premium. I bid on a few of the 3 wheelers that were auctioned over the last year or so. I came close on one and was way out of the ballpark on a few others. I was lucky to find a leftover, brand new, 2016 Superdry Edition right before Thanksgiving this year and I snapped it up. Good luck with your bidding on the BAT auction. I hope you can get it.
