Don’t think that Mazda slickness will come your way Kev as I am fairly sure that a 2009 model will have the Ford gearbox!

Thanks Doug that’s useful. The dealer didn’t know and made a point about it. I’m not unhappy as it is

Ooh, tell us more!

I recently picked up a nice Mexican-made Fender Telecaster, it's a lovely thing to play. The build quality is pretty much just as good as my American built Stratocasters, the only real differences are the fret tangs are visible and it's got a poly rather than nitro finish, neither of which affect tone or playability at all.

A couple of years ago I had an Epiphone EJ200 which was a big old lump but played beautifully. I sold it when I got my Martin OOOX1AE (Mexican built Martin with HPL back and sides, a stratobond neck and Richlite fingerboard) which I love and play as my all-rounder. A couple of months ago I saw that Epiphone were bringing out a smaller-bodied version of the EJ200 with a cutaway called the EJ200 Coupe. Now, I've been considering a cutaway acoustic for some time so whilst int he shop yesterday I had a play on one and it instantly felt familiar and fabulous. It comes in 3 colours as well, including "Wine Red". Nice. I am a big fan of Epiphone guitars and have an ES339 hollow bodied electric guitar. Had our first gig as a new band last Friday night!!

Hi
I'm also a keen guitar player (i can't claim guitarist) and I ride a bike quite a bit, a Bianchi Infinito disc. As a retirement present I found and bought Lowdon F series this year and am once again building back my abilities and I also joined a 1000 mile Skeddaddle cycling trip from Pisa to the tip of the heel of Italy, Santa Maria de Leuca.
Happy trails
Kevin

On Thursday I managed a spin through the Surrey Hills for about 30 miles. Yesterday Angie and I ventured to Windy Milla, Farnham for bacon butties and coffee, then a long loop skirting to the south of Farnham, Elstead, Godalming Guildford and a blast up the A3 home. Today a jaunt out to Bushy Park with the intention of doing a bit of posing around Richmond Park but the approaches to Kingston were gridlocked with Christmas shoppers and so I retreated for a blast down the A3 to Cobham and home.
All told, wee have clocked up 1200 enjoyable miles since ownership began in July.

Here she is full of promise

Have driven the Morgan quite a bit this week after it returned from Bell and Colvill for minor warranty repairs, new fuse, new EGR valve, diff cover replacement and fixing a small coolant leak. All fine except I decided to check absolutely everything and found the foglight full of water, bulb smashed and rusted solid. I also discovered the front indicator to be somewhat waterlogged but still operational - I cleaned this out, scraped the worst of the rust and it is back functional and dry. While the indicator is fully functional I plan to replace this and have ordered a new part. I discovered that the heater fan knob had lost it's grub screw and so spins on it's shaft. It's back to Bell and Colvill in the morning.

Cycling, music, and the Morgan. This is why I always have a smile on my face. And my name is Kevin as well.
