Does anyone know the part number of the Sigma engine oil sump plug as I believe this needs changing when doing an oil change.

Also how often should the fuel filter be changed and does anyone have the part number for this?

I had a Morgan 4/4 Sport (2009) for 9 years. I changed the oil sump plug every time during the oil and oil filter change (every 15000kms)..
The original Ford Motor Company (FOMOCO) oil sump plug, purchased in an official Ford dealership garage for the Ford Focus range did not fit right!
Since then, I always used a much cheaper oil sump plug from the aftermarket range for a Ford Focus Sigma engine, which fitted exactly right ( in Belgium).
I never changed the fuel filter ( I drove about 70000km before selling the Morgan).

Same here re the fuel filter, no need of change after 75.000 km.

According to the Manuel, ref. Page 97
Fuel filter change every 15,000 miles. I have over 30000 miles and no problem with my filter and sump plug,Why would the sump plug require changing if it’s not leaking?

I’m assuming it’s because they have crushed washers, so they need to be replaced after an oil change

On my cars previous Dealer services they have charged £5.95 plus VAT for a new sump plug each time. I assumed that it has an integral crushable washer and this was the reason for its replacement.

Hi Rob,

If your car is anything like my Duratec the sump is specially made and nothing standard will fit. The plug is a shouldered bolt M12x1.75 from memory and the washer is a bonded washer (which can be used several times) and cost pennies

The sump plug on my Sigma is a shouldered bolt but doesn't have a separate washer.

I've seen some Fiesta plugs on the internet which are M14 x 35mm long though not sure if this is the correct one. I think the best thing for me to do is to drain the oil which will give me the chance to identify & get a new sump plug if need be whilst the car isn't being used.

Thanks for the photos though as It shows that there are differences.

The sump plug on my Roadster, previous Duratec, and GDI all have a bonded rubber washer on the plug. I haven't changed one yet and they don't seem to leak.

In the first year I got a Mondeo plug as a replacement, but it was different so I never used it. It's still kicking about somewhere.
