Real bean phone code. Doesn't use bat price in ad Offers less than you ask
Possibly genuine.
Ask for web address, and contact directly via telephone on web site.
Don't really like a web.de email; but thn I am gmail and get picked out by dumb fraud screens fir that sometimes...
Can someone German speaking call the number snd see if they are genuine?

Thanks Rich, I am afraid I don't have any German speaking friends. But if I ask them to bacs the money into my account first, then I guess it would be safe, right?

Kin: the scams work by paying you more than the asking price, and then asking to refund the overpayment into another account (called shipping account) and if you do that , you never see the difference again.....
also never use Western union for money transfers, once it gone , its gone for good and not traceable and paypal is a similar method to western union that they (the scammer) use. The only sure way is to get the money FIRST and make sure that you definitely DO have it in your account, or of course cash. Peter

As mentioned this isn't a typical overpayment scam as they are offering less than you want.
Thing to beware of are forged bankers draft (another crooks favorite) - have them draw the draft from the bank in front of you.
If cash get the cash paid on to your bank before handing over keys. The bank will spot fake notes for you snd save you feeling like a lemon
Better still establish thT the buyer is genuine first, got to be a German speaking tmrw on here who could make a quick call for you...

Kin, if they are able to write English, they will more than likely be able to speak the language well enough for you to have a simple conversation. Generally, all though not always, you will be able to speak to someone in a German business using English - in Europe, it often seems to be the default between Dutch, Germany, Belgian speakers (this is a broad generalisation but I'm yet to make a phone call to a German business where I couldn't at least have a very basic chat).
At this stage, I'd say you have a 50/50 chance of it being genuine but my hunch would be that it isn't. If you are a business and you want to buy a car, you call, you don't email.

Thanks guys, I've replied back and basically asked for their link for the site.
With current poor sterling exchange rate, they will be getting a bargain..

Hi kin, dont know if this is any comfort or help to you, but my son advertised his Harley Davidson on pistonheads and he got a call from Germany asking if they could buy it. True to their word they arrived on the stated day with cash. Loaded it into a rather large van and said they were going to buy several others in different parts of the country before setting off to go back to Germany. Apparently they sell them over there at a premium and make a nice living out of it.
