BTW I’m also in the camp of being visible and having good headlights. Any upgrade is welcome. I have changed as many of the bulbs I can to LED headlamps excepted, because of legality and indicators because of the hyperflash.

Yes, I replaced mine years ago. Chromed brass mounting tubes with decent quality bulb holders, I also drilled out the original threaded holes and replaced them with M3 rivnuts and stainless hex bolts rather than those rubbish cross-headed fasteners.

Tim that sounds like a very worthwhile winter project. As far as I am concerned the two problematic issues with the lamps are the bulb holders which are prone to failure due to corrosion causing increased resistance and heat, and those damned screws and captive brass ferrule which are impossible to get back together.

The only problem is that Morgan seems to use a size that is not all that comon. 73mm and 95mm diameter replacement LED lamps are readily available but Morgan uses lamps that are about 82 mm or 3 1/4 inches diameter. The plinth is 84 mm or 3 5/16 inches diameter. Nobody seems to make replacement LED replacements in this size. I have considered gutting the existing units and putting 73 mm lamps inside them.

Does anyone know if they are they using LEDs on the PlusSix? If so what is the size and who is the supplier?

If they aren't then no doubt I'll get my collar felt by the rozzers and get sent down for a long stretch in chokey where I have to share a cell with Big Mal who will like to play mummies and daddies after lights out.

Or alternatively no-one will ever notice as the bulbs are supplied by a well-established specialist in vehicle lighting who has ensured they are not too bright for road use.

You can just make out the multi LED pattern in the rear lights here (apologies for the poor photo quality)

Yes I follow your thinking John, the idiots that drive around in clear conditions with their rear Fog Lamps on are a real pain so hopefully these won't be too bright.
Always good to have a visible rear end in a Morgan they are a bit invisible it seems.

The lights in the picture are the brake lights, not the normal tail lights, so if someone is alarmed because they haven't seen me and only notice because my brake lights make them think 'Blimey, they're bright!' then job done as far as I'm concerned.

The tail lights are brighter than normal but nowhere near dazzling, so I have no concerns about annoying following drivers.

That's got to be an improvement then.

I've fitted much brighter LED sidelight bulbs from Classic Car LEDS and use them as day running lights. I'm going to get some red brake/tail lights from Classic Car LEDs.
