Yes. The key has been cut down and inserted into a stainless knob I had laying about. Held in place with epoxy.

I didn't like the modern look of the OEM key.

Me too - as far as OCD goes, to be a card-carrying member, you have to strip the stickers off! I moved the dash stickers to under the cowl as soon as I got it home, and pulled the stupid "HOT" sticker off the next day with the help of a bit of LPS-1 Greaseless Lubricant (shameless plug - like WD40 but much better!).
