Having been out in the rain a few times lately I'm going to upgrade my wipers.
However, I've just been looking at the WSB8 wipers on Car Builder Solutions website and the locking hole seems in fact to be a short slot.
Jon modified his by drilling an extra hole and one can clearly see that the original locking hole was round.
Does anyone know if the the WSB8 is correct and does it have a round locking hole or is it a slot?
If it is a slot, does it still work OK with our wiper arms? Bob, mine were definitely a hole, but as you say the latest image on CBS is slightly slotted, the spring clip was pretty tight so I suspect you will get very little movement. You could ring CBS and ask for a physical stock check - they are helpful Thanks Jon, I'll give them a call

Comparing images on this post with the carbuilders one, the slotted hole looks to be further in than the original round hole position, so it could mean that they will be a better fit without additional drilling. Be interested to hear how you get on.

Someone here with a Lhd car who fitted the CBS wipers?
I'm afraid I'm gonna have to shorten the lower part of it about 20mm. Yes me, I only drilled a second hole on the left wiper as explained. I have a small "overhang" on the windscreen surround but no trouble. I'll check for picture as soon as possible. Jacques

I tried the CBS wiper blades but the lower ends fouled the screen edge by a substantial amount. Now looking to reduce the sweep angle as per another post.

I'm concerned about Paul's post but I'll give them a try and see.

Jacques, if you cut down the drivers side wiper arm a bit you should be able to get the socket of the blade on further (but you may need an alternative 'pip' to stop it sliding back off)

I bought 3 of these adjustable wiper arms for similar experiments. It is easy to reduce the length of the arm, which needs to be done for the Morgan, by cutting a little off the section that slides inside the main body. https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/stainless-steel-adjustable-left-park-wiper-armAvailable also in right park.

Getting the outer end shorter is not a problem, either by cutting a little of the blade or by getting an adjustable wiper arm. The problem is the inner end that will seriously foul the lower edge and even the scuttle due to the sweep angle. At least on my car, anything more than a sweep angle of say 100 - 105 degrees will not work. My car has an angle of 130, so I have some work ahead. CBS has wiper gears down to 95. My path wil be as follows: cut the outer end of the CBS 8" blades to gain aprox. 15 mm (already done). Next get adjustable arms and extend them untill the outer end nearly touches the upper and/or lateral edge of the frame. By this I should achieve maximum possible distance between the inner end of the wiper and the lower frame edge/scuttle at full sweep. Then get a protractor and measure the maximum permitted sweep angle that will not foul the lower edge. So, get a new gear with a hopefully correct angle and install it. The reason I go through so much effort with first cutting the blades then elongating the arm etc, is that I want to maintain the swept area on the passenger side as much as possible. By this I should gain some area as opposed to just changing the wiper gear.

So there we are. Finished the whole thing today. Very happy, it all worked out. The steps were as follows: 1. Getting three CBS 8" blades. 2. Cutting the distal end as much as possible, aprox. 15 mm 3. Getting CBS adjustable wiper arms. 4. Fitting the blade to the arm, then the whole thing onto the car. 5. Turning the wiper motor on, extending the arms so that the distal end of the blade sweeps just a few mm short of the upper and lateral frame. This makes the proximal end of the blade move away from the lower edge of the frame. 6. Measured the max. permissible sweep angle. Turned out to be 110. To be sure I ordered 105, but 110 would have been ok also. 7. Got the motor out, changed the gear. Put a fair amount of grease in the mechanism. 8. Mounted the whole ting, again adjusting the length of the arms and locking them at the right length. Then a few minor tweaks as bending the arms a little, then inserting some rubber (from a bicycle inner tube) in the arm/blade connection to get a tighter fit, also squeezing the metal on the distal (cut down) end of the wiper to prevent the rubber blade from moving. It was quite a bit more extensive than I thought, and also a more costly. Would I have done it again? Yes, I think so. I live in one of the wettest cities in Europe, and although it is a sunday/sunshine car, squalls will inevitably catch us. And I got to know my car better, learnt how a wiper mechanism works and had the pleasure of actually mastering this little mechanic project
