Thought I'd just add to this thread as I continued my tinkering!

Here's a photo of the 'dead pedal' I mentioned in the original post. Just big enough to comfortably rest my foot on, but small enough not to interfere with the clutch use, even with big boots on.



Yesterday changed the washer jet. Found the original one next to useless, I think this one is from an old Jag. Good powerful jet, in exactly the right place.

Added a sound system a while back. Used a portable Bluetooth speaker, that links to my phone, which in turns links to a remote controller which is stuck on the dash. Means I can keep the phone in my pocket, and don't have to worry about unlocking it etc.

Here's the controller - has play/pause, skip forward/back and volume



Speaker fits nicely behind the seat (and is branded with the world's greatest rock band ).

That's very practical this "dead pedal" TBM !!
I like the solution with the blue tooth speaker also!

Had a little set back with a leaking rear core plug, but got that fixed over the weekend (at a very reasonable £160!) and now back on track for some more tinkering

Next plans!

1. Got some wider wheels so will get them blasted/coating and some nice fat tyres.
2. Fit the new 'tracker/mobile hotspot' - she will then be a 'CyberMog'
3. Adapt the current bonnet stays to make them 'lockable'.
4. Been saving for a tele shock conversion, so will get that ordered and fit soon.

Loving your car.. Proper 'lived in' look.... I am in awe of the beautifully kept examples gleaming and perfect.... And know I will never have the dedication to replicate that... Mostly due to the 'race it - break it - fix it - repeat' philosophy I seem to have acquired over the years.... Good to see a car looking the way mine is likely to end up after i've finished fixing the depradations of the last (racer) custodian and get to drive it about!

Looks great and an interesting list of mods, it is great fun tinkering and getting something to your liking!

Inspired by Rene's post I thought I'd do an update based on years two and three. I'm slowly running out of things to do!

When the weather improves next year I've got a bit of chassis and bodywork to do (a few rust patches appearing), and I've got a new High Gear Inertia Starter to fit, and am currently saving up for a SiFab Fuel tank and mount. I'm also waiting delivery of an underdrive bottom pulley to see if that makes any difference. Got a set of new oversize hinge pins/drills and reamer in the shed, but my 'quick fix' works OK for the time being so I'll leave alone for a bit.

I'd like to get a couple of vertical zips put in either side of the rear hood window so I can run with the door tops and rear window open, and it will make folding the hood much easier. Unfortunately my tame trimmer has relocated to Lincoln so need to find a new one (that doesn't charge the earth).

Most of it is my own work

Exterior/Chassis:
Debumpered front and rear, and stick on front number plate fitted

4 seat Hood Swivels fabricated.
Interior Re-trim with heated seat panels (Nostalgia Upholstery)
Smartscreen Wiper controller
14” Wood Rim Steering Wheel
Seat mounts lowered.
Inertia Switch for Fuel Pump
Indicator Buzzer/Brake Delay
Glovebox door made and fitted
Door hinges tightened and stainless bolts fitted

I'm lost in admiration, the work done on both cars is wonderful to behold and largely beyond my ability to do it.

Life in growing up period was tough, Dad was an electrical engineer in a steelworks through WWII and so had a real "make do and mend" capability, his pride and joy was an electric drill, the only power tool in the house other than a vacuum cleaner.
Mum and Dad did all the decorating, gardening, household repairs, car servicing and so on.

I learnt a lot from him, but also like him I never enjoyed doing it all like him and over the years we have been happy to pay professionals to do what I didn't enjoy doing.
This is why I have an Aero S4 Chassis car...

Oh, and like John V6's wife, my wife firmly believes that camping is for kids.. hotel or rented cottage is essential if we travel!

I‘m blamed/ shamed (or what’s the right word) to be a inspiration here…

You‘re most a step forward to me. I‘m sure I‘ve got the right car for me. Key in and drive and a little simple DIYs.
But more and more: a PLUS8. When I read your report it is a much more great inspiration for a MOG-owner.

Not simple key in and go: realize she/he/it lives! And as in real live, love and live (and/or life) are wonderful things and
to get satisfaction isn‘t so hard as Mr. Jagger said.
