Yes Heinz, I think people regard them in much the same way that they did the MGB at the time as pretty average as a car but as time passes the value of such cars increases as they start to disappear.

About the warning that Andymot gave I would agree. My son has learned about the various MX5 models. He himself drives an NA. The NB is constructed in a different way. In the NB, the longitudinal beams rust from the inside out. This requires extensive repairs. That's why you should take a close look at the longitudinal beams, preferably with an endoscope. The NA is not so susceptible here but should also get a closer look due to her age. But otherwise the NB is also a beautiful car to drive, just like the NA. In Germany at that time the MX5 was also called a Frisörauto. She did not deserve that negative description. It is a fully-fledged agile and very sporty car.

The article below describes very precisely what to look out for at the NB with photos. With Deepl.com or Google translator it is worth reading.

Talking of Porsche, the Boxster is good value for the money if you find a good one.

Tax free motoring and can be made to work for its keep wink

Not flies in your Teath in one of those things. More likely flies on the baking of your head when the misjudge an overtake!

I had a diesel series 3. The only thing more cruse were the jokes in the school rugby team.

Me too. Cheapest motoring I have ever had. Parts were very cheap and, usually, very easy to fit.

Which is just as well considering how often you need them. Drive one of those and it will make the Morgan ride and suspension seem like a plush limousine.
