40-70mph, not sure if I was at full acceleration when going through 40mph though.

Re the warranty, I was told that the factory take the view that anything other than factory Stage 1 exhausts will invalidate the warranty. I would have gone for G56 exhausts otherwise myself. The G56 ones are definitely less noisy than the AR Motorsport ones (which took some getting used to but which I do like).Whichever ones you go for, you won’t regret the better performance they bring.

Shaun, this is with the AR Stage 1 exhaust. I was testing the new tyres and the rattle that persists and gets a bit worse.

We have had the G56 exhausts for 3 years...the improved breathing and engine performance combined with a lovely deep noise that does not create bleeding ears is brilliant - highly recommended...am sure the stage 2+ mods add even more but we find there is plenty of performance vs our appetite for risk to our licences!

Sounds like your steering column cowl may be vibrating.Try pushing upwards on the steering wheel as you're driving, i.e. towards the sky. Does the rattle go away or change? If so, the problem may be a loose quick-release fitting. Remove the steering wheel, place a small piece of masking tape over the end of the steering column spline and refit the steering wheel. This is a good way to eliminate play in the QR fitting and might just tell you something!

If not the QR then it could be the bottom of the dashboard rattling against the chassis tube. I cured mine with a felt washer jammed into the gap.

Are those figures with your Magnaflow exhaust Obie or have you refitted the originals? Also what gear did you do the 40-70 in? It will be interesting to see if there is much change after you have fitted your choice of free flowing exhaust. When I changed to the G56 it certainly felt like an improvement but you will have some figures to show if that feeling is correct. The only figures I have seen are Morgans publicity fantasy numbers, at least these are believable, thanks.

I agree with Bunny, your steering wheel splines sound like they are rattling LightSpeed. It is a common problem with the Lifeline QR but you may have a Traven one fitted? What ever type you have, make sure the wheel is fully engaged and not sticking on the splines, it will be more difficult to fit with the masking tape but should fix the rattle, if that is the problem.

Standard exhaust fitted with number 1 baffle removed, I have sold the Magnaflows.
I could improve the 0-60 on a dry road as I couldn't use much power of the line as there was no grip, 40-70 had a gear change but there was so much traffic about that may also not be representative.
I will do them again on a quiet dry road (if there is such a thing in the uk) and then again after fitting Garage 56 exhausts for comparison.
Got more power with the Magnaflows though.

Definitely not the Travern QR since steering wheel position or pressure on it has no effect.

The rattle against the dashboard is not something I considered. When I had the car on my lift I started it up and put it in gear to check drive belt alignment. The sound was still there but reduced. The sound happens with clutch actuation, at least the deep rattle, but the small ball bearing sounds, sort of like marbles rolling around in a can only happens when moving down the road.

Obie, why did you sell the Magnaflows?

The extra power was nice and sounded great most of the time but just too loud for me when giving it full throttle.
