Another run out just for fun today. Beautiful sunny afternoon, dry roads and little traffic. River Tillingbourne, Abinger Hammer, ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/01/03/22F0BC5D-8846-4F19-B3DD-0656C1FA14EA.md.jpg)

We had some heavy showers this morning, but I managed a sunny 23 miles before lunch. And a few miles to get fish and chips this evening!

A nice 20 mile plus jaunt around Felixstowe. Great cold sunny weather and the views were great. Here is th view from Cobbold Rd towards the North Sea. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/01/04/20200104_135728.jpg)

Fish and chip shops don't exist up here the nearest one would be in Denver about 45 miles away and McDonald's doesn't hold the same appeal.

Lovely 50 miler to Buckfast to check the Nativity crib scene out it's always very special and almost life size, on the way I stopped at Totnes for a call of nature and as I got back to the car a guy compliments me on the car knowing it had the Rover V8 in it. It transpires he sold his saw mill off a while back and his last job was sending some ash to the MMC, it really is a small world. You do meet the loveliest people in a Morgan, I spotted a farmer friend of ours daughter at the side of the road in Dartington on the way back so gave her a lift home after thanking me she said she could get use to travelling this way. I would never pick anyone up at the side of the road unless I knew them these days and that makes me feel mean but you hear such nightmare tales sometimes it's put me off chancing it.

Richard, that would have been quite a walk for the farmer. Thanks for reminding me how good the crib is at Buckfast Abbey, it was a regular family trip as a kid. John

Along with the other members of MSCC's LogMog Centre we met up in Ringwood Market Place for a run through the New Forest. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/01/05/Market-Plsace-1.jpg) A good turn out and what looked like a good route. But it soon became clear that the route wasn't really very challenging and coupled with the now rigorously enforced 40mph speed limit in the National Park the run soon became a tedious convoy, pottering along at 30 to 35mph that lasted about 2 hours until about 25 Morgans turned up at the destination pub together. We didn't stop, it would have taken forever to get served. I'm not sure that this is "Morganeering" as I understand it.

Just as I was contemplating joining MSCC after 16 years of ownership Peter you tipped me back over the other way again

Just as I was contemplating joining MSCC after 16 years of ownership Peter you tipped me back over the other way again Richard, understood. I take the view that I'd not normally join a club that would want me as a member...! The MSCC is a bit like the proverbial Curate's Egg. So MSCC Centres all differ, markedly. It depends very much on the local Centre Secretary and Committee. Some are cliquey, others are not. LogMog is mostly about driving not far to a pub or restaurant for a social event. Not really our scene. Swanmog seems to believe in driving a few hundred miles to somewhere nice, staying a couple or 3 nights, exploring the area, then going home. Unfortunately their next adventure is based near where we live...so we will give it a miss. But the last one in the IOW was amazing.
