Hi All,
A happy new year to everyone
I know this is a long shot but on New Years Eve my flat was broken into, thankfully not much was taken except for a couple of boxes of our grandparents jewellery including my Granddad's original Morgan 4/4 club lapel pin badge & cufflinks. I'm not really expecting them to turn up but if anyone sees them would they let me know.

Sorry to read this Ian, we are a small community and if we are all aware you never know, here's hoping.
If you are a member of the MSCC it might be worth alerting them too.

Sorry to read this Ian.
I hope these personal items are retrieved.

Trust the ARP4 is running well now that the MoT issue is resolved?

Sorry to hear that, I was about to post a separate thread on CCTV advice, and will still do. A neighbour was burgled last week so understand a little of what you are going through.

the ARP4 is going fine, and even stops!

We have the ring cameras fitted which have picked him up & did alert us

Ring cameras get my vote, especially the door bell cam.

Fitted them after a spate of burglaries in our small village. Caught burglars trying to get in to our garage the following night!

I've got NEST cameras around the house (Morgan and Motorbikes are kept outside). The cameras are linked to the Phillips Hue bulbs I've got in the house. When I'm away from home, if the cameras pick up motion, they turn on some of the house lights which is a good bit of additional security.

Don't count on it. I had some very clear CCTV footage of a bloke on my premises, checking out my bikes (fiddling with the locks, ground anchors etc)

Initially, I was told that there was no offence, but when I advised them I was ex West Mercia Professional Standards, and Criminal Attempts Act 1981 specified that tampering with a vehicle is an offence they agreed it was in their interests to look into it further.

Through some investigation (I have friends in very low places) I then provided them with the name and address of the bloke concerned.

Months later, I finally got a call saying that they had arrested him, but during interview he denied everything and as they had lost the CCTV footage (despite me providing it on three occasions) had released him without charge.

Fat chance of them looking for them, never mind catching them.
