Spent the day out visiting the Haynes car museum round trip of 240 miles mostly on the A303, which was, as usual, a traffic jam at Stonehenge. As this was the first major trip of any length so far, we are both mighty impressed with how +8 handled dawdling in first gear deep in traffic and then roaring off at the first available dual carriageway.

Haynes had a few Morgans on show which was nice to see spanning about 40yrs, and a couple of race readies that were stripped to the ash frame and looked decidedly scary.

Getting to know the car better now and how she is at different speeds, Mrs C enjoyed herself and is getting used to the difference between her MX5 and Morgan.😈. Also I think we have finally mastered the NS mirror set up big improvement over previous attempt. Much to learn, which is all part of the fun.

All in all a good days logging.

Yes.

44 mile round trip into the Vale of Belvoir as far as Belvoir Castle and home via a visit to the crumblies.

Lovely day for a trip out in the Mog.

We had hoped to stop at the Belvoir Castle shops and cafe for a hot drink but the car parks were overflowing (and they had not opened their large car park). I didn’t fancy parking the Morgan on a verge - we would probably have sunk up to our axles the way the weather has been until recently. It did mean that we called in on my parents and scrounged a hot drink off them so not all bad.

10 miles ride to wake up the princess and warm her a little , winter season, and cold wheather not good for her. So every dry day is an opportunity to visit little roads and little villages around here. Good for princess, enjoyable for me!

Yes. New plugs fitted, compression tested (220 psi all round), & anti freeze changed. Then a sunny drive to Felixstowe old beach.

First Morgan drive for couple of weeks. Had a 40 mile round trip to the RSPCA dogs home taking them a bag of food ready for the annual January intake of unwanted Christmas presents.

I fitted a cover to the coil pack on the Roadster (made from an old business card plastic box, so not to the Dave W standard) as it has 3 times started missing after heavy rain on cylinders 4,5 & 6. I had been planning to do this for a long time but finally got to it. So a test drive was in order to see if it worked which it did.
I had already tested the plastic in boiling water to ensure the PPE would take the heat.

A nice drive then along the coast today to test it.

Nice drive out yesterday to the Oil Can Café at Holmfirth, well worth a visit if you're in the area

Met some sheep rustlers on the back roads

And then a blast under the Pennine Way, nice straight road

New Year run to an annual VSCC meeting at the White Buck pub in the New Forest, near Burley.
A good collection, 4 or 5 Morgans, a lot of Jaguars and a smattering of US Exotica.

This is a good view of part of the carpark.

Good coffee and bacon buttie to enjoy whilst wandering round the carpark, chatting to owners. Star of the show, what appeared to be a genuine a Type 54 Bugatti....but was it? Only 4 or 5 exist and one was sold at $4m.
There was a great looking Lynx D Type Jaguar that the owner is considering scrapping and returning the major components to the E Type it was made from, as the E Type would be worth more. What a world!

Anyway, great run over in Tarka, but a bit wet on the way back so I put the "wimp protector' up. Probably not really needed.....

Quick 2 mile run out for bread ended up being a 20 miler bit of drizzle but well worth it remembering my New Years resolution grin2

Some friendly waves from the visitors still down here enjoying the town and scenery, good to see.
