I love my Ford Kent 4/4 for a whole lot of reasons but the forward view of the cockpit isn't high on the list. I suppose the matt black vinyl, plain Smiths dials with black bezels, plastic rockers and sparse glove box with cardboard interior are a reflection of the austerity seventies, when Morgan wasn't a luxury car maker. I don't think a Morgan model before or since has been fitted with such an uninspiring dash?
I've long had plans to replace the dash with a wooden one but I've grown to accept the stark functionality of the one it has and the only change I've made in 12 years is to replace a broken switch.
I've always liked the dashboard. It is uncompromisingly sporty, I think it fits the Morgan with its rocker switches very well. It reminds me of the Superseven/Caterham style. I would leave it like this. But I understand very well if you want changes, especially if you have seen the same thing for years.

I have exactly the same black vinyl utilitarian dash on my 85 4/4. I, too, have toyed with the idea of replacing the black vinyl with wood. But then I'd have to do the gear knob as well, and then the switches would look a bit out of place, and then the instrument panel insert would look odd with different switchgear, and then I'd probably need to think about replacing the black vinyl seats and rubber floor mats, and then it starts to be no longer the same car. So I think maybe I should just leave everything well alone and revel in the poverty-spec simplicity of it all!

Hi everyone, has anyone got a photograph of a 1978 4/4 dashboard?I an rebuilding LHG 430T, which has some 15000 miles on the clock, and am lead to believe has not been on the road for at least 20 years. Having problems with parts! Is this picture any help ? It's a 1982 4/4 Dash the same as a 1978 Dash ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/06/23/20161225_171051.jpg) The lower Dash of course

And my 1980 +8. The black plastic switches were fitted to export USA/Canada MGBs and I have sourced replacements on ebay.
