I took the liberty of correcting the orientation (it was on its side). I hope you don't mind Collin. In theory there is a part of the EXIF code which should take care of orientation issues but it doesn't always work or the codes may have been stripped during processing. The developer of the site script has been asked if it is possible to implement a function to rotate images but so far it has not been implemented. For anyone interested in the technical side I use FileZilla FTP software to download and upload the files (only possible by site administrators) and simply rotated them using PaintShop Pro which I have been using before Corel purchased the original developer Jasc Software. I'm happy to do this on request if someone has this problem with an image. Delighted with any help thank you. BR Colin

Obviously didn’t work, sorry. Can’t understand the jargon of the guide. Just a little comment on this, which has already had a response from Graham. In posting the image using the image insert button Colin actually did everything correctly but the forum software, for reasons best known to the developers, puts up "http://" as some sort of prompt. In order to post a direct link to an image it is necessary that only one "http://" or "https://" appears so it is usually necessary to delete the automatic "http://" before pasting the link to the image. In the case of tm-img.com, and most image hosting sites, provision is made for copying the complete necessary BBCode ready formatted with the tags for inserting directly in to the text of a post without using the image button.

I have to say, as an utter thicko who still doesn’t get how long wave radio works especially the valves etc, this was a brilliant explanation. Genuinely thank you for this- it used language that I understood (although confess I couldn’t repeat).

Tim,
I never had a problem posting photos from the TM imaging site but I never really understood why we had to do it a certain way.
Now I do and as I am a great believer in knowing not only what you have to do but also why you have to do it, your explanation has turned on the light bulb for me. (Or should it be LED)

The reason this didn't work is that the link you pasted in has got loads of extraneous information after the filename of the image. Remember I said that the filename ends in'.jpg'? Well, that bit occurs in the first third of the link. Then it's followed by a questionmark and then loads of indexing information, it looks like the hosting site you used has a fancy way of categorising information. This is where you would need to consult the user manual of the particular hosting site to extract the proper image link.
