Here is exactly the plugs I use when I use plug. I have tried many things over the years because of very noisy hobbies; sound cancelling headphones, custom mold fitting ear plugs, cheap rollup foam plugs, cigarette filters (in an emergency), rolled up t-shirt strips (also emergency method), and finally when I found these they allow me to wear them all day without discomfort and additional headphones can be used over them comfortable (necessary with cannon fire).



These are inexpensive when purchased by the case(lots of 100 or lots of 200) and can be dispensed to your passengers and discarded without thought as to expense.

I took my first day drive the other day - glorious. At least in that color people do see you way more than during the night. I'm still getting used to the high RPM "cruising" this engine requires. Rev matching is however much easier.

One note though - the footwell carpet is getting in the way sometimes. I need to double tape to the floor or else that could lead to some nasty surprises.

I use Velcro so the mat can be removed for cleaning

Since putting the offending mat on a top shelf in the garage seven years ago I haven't had any problems with it.

Allright I clocked in another 300 clicks this weekend and i'm slowly getting my groove.
I must say I'm in shock at how glowing red the exhaust becomes after a drive - I tend to operate within a 2.8k 4.2k rpm range at all times and cruising at 3.5k to 3.7k rpm. Is this the correct range ?
Probably stage 1 is not such a dumb idea after all - need to find storage for the stock one for when I import the car back.

I took the car to our local gathering and I was unpleasantly surprised at how parents let their kid climb on cars without a care in the world. Thank god the Mog was cool if not that could have finished tragically. I've added signs but nothing works parents just care more about snapping and instagraming than safety for their cubs. Shocking !

the check engine also appeared again for a short while but went away - It is apparently a thing for the engine management to say hello once in a while.

The base hood is useless - closing it is so complicated !

Yep, my mats in in a drawer in the garage, I might be able to find it, maybe. I wonder what something like Line-X or any other truck bedliner would do to help non-skid and reduce noise?

And Osten, when you say "base hood" your are referring to the bonnet and its fasteners? I have the "Vintage Bonnet Catches" and they work fairly well. If you don't have them I would suggest them.

Good to hear your getting out and about. Yes, you're operating in the right rev range and glowing headers are normal with the stock exhaust.

Any freer flowing exhaust will help the dramatically - MMC Stage 1, Garage 56, remove a baffle or maybe a local motorbike shop can make one. Storing the stock exhausts may be useful but the upgraded exhausts are all OK in the UK.

There's no easy answer to crowds swarming over the car but at least the header do cool down to merely hot fairly quickly.

If you mean the tonneau cover, I can’t imagine parking the car without it! You’ll find then these “nice” parents sitting in their children for the photo…

I simply put a sign saying "I don't open your fridge to eat your food or pick the flowers in your garden - this is my car - Look but no touching and NO CLIMBING !

As for the baffle removal isn't that gonna void warranty ?


For the "hood" i meant the one that sits over the oil tank. I wasn't a fan of the option ones but the basic one are a real pain to close properly.

Tonneau cover is on unless i'm among friends. When parked at home its fully covered to prevent any "temptations".

I still have a sign over my parking space saying - "this is my car and this is my baseball bat - You won't meet the second if you don't use the first" - Definitely less classy than the Morgan only parking sign. Seems 21st century primates only understand brute force.

Aside from that - Its a lot of fun
