Yes went went out yesterday, hood down in the sunshine and a loop around Newdigate. The roads are in an appalling state with standing water, potholes that would b*gger the suspension in most cars and mud slides. It was fairly unpleasant in places and so we retreated.
It feels as if it has been raining since September.

Couldn't get out until after lunch today (Sunday), and managed to drive for an hour or so topless, and with some sunshine. Glad the heater works well - the only cold spot seemed to be the back of my head!

Its an Insta 360 camera, K HERE
So in the software you can manipulate pivot points, track objects, slew the camera image, speed up and slow down the footage etc. You can also take snapshots of the moving footage as still image. Its really very nifty bit of kit.

I made a mount for it to fit between the sun visors which is where that image is from and where I usually place it.

The software can be a bit of a fiddle but the worst bit is I cant connect a separate microphone to record engine noise without the hiss :-(

This is from the camera attached to the front of the car

Demo 1

And this one from a camera stick attached to the back of the car. The software auto deletes the stick so you get that cool follow cam footage :-)

Demo 2

Also great if some turd runs into the back of your car !! WARNING - footage contains a northerner swearing loudly

Crash

That's a neat bit of kit... Clever the way it deletes its own stick..... Who says the camera never lies!! :-)..... I thought you were quite restrained after being rear-ended... Or did you edit out the bloodshed!.... My wife was interested in the Box Hill clip she's had some cracking bikes over the years, and being from S London originally spent many a youthful weekend hanging out at Box Hill and whizzing round the local roads... She says it looks very well manicured these days! :-)

The Box Hill run brought back memories...
As a kid we used to go there for a picnic with Mum and Dad.
Must have been the early/mid 60s.
Mum had made some jam tarts, they were in a round cake tin.
I played with the tin, rolling it down a bit.
Ooops, let go.
It rolled down the hill, the lid came off and the jam tarts rolled out, breaking up as they went.
I was NOT popular, and have never been back.

How long do you think it will be until you're able to return to the scene of your crime Peter??.... I like jam tarts as much as the next bloke but I'm fairly sure the statute of limitations has probably run out by now! :-)

Perhaps I'll have to make a dozen and roll them down the hill, in memory of Mum and Dad!!
