I take up my position as the fly in the ointment... (-: If as I imagine the majority of Morgan owners are baby boomers, and that the younger generation are unlikely to have similar cultural influences or expectations relative to motoring priorities, then the Market for Trads seems bound to shrink as will their value... Of course Climate Change will have little to no effect on residuals...or what..?

As an alternative it seems air cooled 911`s are higher valued than Morgans of a similar age, but such is and has been the brand management of Porsche, that those vehicles are still of interest to a younger set which has kept their market buoyant to the extent it seems overheated to an old codger such as I... hide oldgit

Wow! What a lot of assumptions people are making. Anyway we will know the pricing before long.

Unfortunately I think the prices of the trads will start to fall for the simple reason that driving older cars will become more and more restrictive.

I think that the value of all ICE vehicles will start to fall as they fall out of favour with the public. Anything perceived as polluting will be essentially worthless in 10 to 15 years.

This is the big question , the future values of petrol /diesel cars . How are we going to change over to electric if we can't sell our present cars ?

I agree on the assumptions but that's the lifeblood of TM when a new model is speculated over grin2

As for your comment on ICE being restrictive "prohibition" didn't stop people drinking did it wink

We will still have light aircraft and motor sport in a limited form possibly but this will increase the "need" in my view, we shall see what happens in the fullness of time.

I can't imagine Mr Madmax giving up a V8 for a lithium battery pack somehow………….

It'll be like the second world war in France where they hid 2cvs away from the invaders, bringing them out again once sanity was resumed.

Blimey Tim, if thats the case I won't be bothering to Dinitrol either the Landy or Mog and salt holds no fears!

Might as well stop servicing them by 2030 too.. what a miserable thought. I'll give up driving if it comes to pass. No way am I ever going to find any enjoyment in driving a glorified milk float about..

I haven't noticed people not going to Steam Engine events because there's too much smoke or selling them for scrap !

The worst thing that can happen is that mileage cold be restricted of petrol cars, but most of us already do that anyway. Its not just Morgans which we are talking about, its the whole classic car industry which currently exempts cars over 40 years from emissions and MOT tests and an industry is that is worth billions is not going to go away in my lifetime.

If a start were made and the biggest polluters targeted eg Diesel Commercial vehicles, Trains etc that would make a far bigger impact on the environment than a few little used Morgans

Don’t think any UK Government in our lifetimes would dare to finish up the ICE in its entirety. Too many votes would be at stake 😀
