Wow! What a lot of assumptions people are making. Anyway we will know the pricing before long.
Unfortunately I think the prices of the trads will start to fall for the simple reason that driving older cars will become more and more restrictive. I think that the value of all ICE vehicles will start to fall as they fall out of favour with the public. Anything perceived as polluting will be essentially worthless in 10 to 15 years. You haven't seen what people drive around in, in South Yorkshire. You have vehicles I thought you were still using horse and carts?

I think it’s the pubs you frequent Tim....they are too middle class. 😉
Probably. Let's wait 15 years and see if I'm right.

A big problem is (from the point of view of petrol car enthusiasts) that at the moment the basic acceptance of ICE engines is questioned. Not by everyone, but by so many people that it is a polarization that divides society, not only in the UK but everywhere.
One small consequence is that the admiration for beautiful and extraordinary ICE cars is dwindling faster than the need for many people to continue driving an old ICE car because they can't afford anything else.
This is a very sublime development that will bring about change in other ways. It is not expected that many people will fight for their beautiful ICE luxury or vintage car. They will indirectly but permanently distance themselves when they realize that they are no longer admired but that many people will only look critically at their pride. It also has a lot to do with the fact that our Morgan and other beautiful cars are proof of self-realization and an expression of a certain narcissism (not to be understood in a pathological way but as a natural motive of man). For this reason, many owners will quickly find other expressions of their narcissism...and ICE beautiful cars are out when they are no longer a means of expression. When this paradigm shift takes over, our beautiful hobby will soon come to an end. I am not saying this as a pessimist and I am not saying it out of destructive malicious joy. I am affected myself. But it may become reality.
In other words, nobody who invests his hard-earned money in an expensive beautiful hobby wants to justify himself. This is too much psychic energy to expend in a defensive posture. It was so that there was envy until now. But envy need not disturb one's own pleasure. On the contrary. Envy is the personal processing of the frustration of the unsuccessful. The new feeling that hits us sensitively is called contempt from the point of view of the planet saviors.

ICE have a lot of life with the public yet. Over the Xmas period I went to watch a stage rally with my grandsons, something I haven't done for many a year. I was amazed at the hundreds of spectators following and cheering the competitor's, and the louder the engine the better they liked it. The good thing was most of these were less than half my age. Its going to be many generation's to change this mind set....I HOPE.

I'll bet they have the ICE cars running forever in Cuba, maybe we need to ship our lovelies over there and use them for holidays

In 15 or 20 years I will trade my worthless Morgan in for an electric pavement scooter. I reckon I will have had my moneys worth out of it by then and it will owe me nothing. Until then I will enjoy it whilst I can

Probably. Let's wait 15 years and see if I'm right. I have a sneaking suspicion that I will be very fortunate to have a licence in 15 years time anyway. I'll be 88 by then and few of us will be as fortunate as Button who still drives Morgan's at 90

I imagine you can get an old traction engine for just a few quid now. I think I’ll hang on for a veteran RR Silver Ghost, or maybe a Le Mans Bentley. They’ll all be really polluting so no-one will want them.

Yes with all the gloom and doom around I expect the TM for sale column will be exploding shortly as everyone rushes along to realise their capital It's just another phase and it'll pass with normal Brit pragmatism, there is far too much money involved in motor sport to throw it all away.
