So today I jumped in only to find water pooled on top of the transmission tunnel in between gearstick and radio.

It’s a 2000 Plus 8. Any thoughts, or recognised problem leaking facilities ???

Dribble some Captain Tolleys creeping crack cure around the screw on the rear bonnet hinge.

They also leak around the washer jets and wiper spindles. If you feel brave enough, drop the dash and look inside.

I've got exactly the same on my 2000 4/4.

Tried Captain Tolleys Creaping Crack Cure around the windscreen rubbers and the wiper bosses but although I think it improved things, I still have the problem.

My worry is that the fusebox is directly under the leak and I'm sure it does sometimes get dripped on.

I've sprayed some ACF 50 around it but I would like to find a permanent solution.

I replaced the rubbers on the jets and fitted rubbers top and bottom

Not sure if this post refers you having been out in the rain or if the +8 was in the dry when you "jumped in", if the latter then check the heater hoses.

Thanks chaps.
Was pretty sure it couldn’t be the rear hinge as though that screwed into wood?

Britmog. Car sat in the rain.

I’ll try and splodge some gear around the spindle and jets. Thx guys

The rear hinge is very common, because some get drilled right through.

Rear hinge is fairly well sealed up and has the short flat screw heads not posi which I believe go right through.

The only other bit being the centre wiper spindle which I have just splodged up. The other wipers and the squirty things I feel are outside the area of concern.

I know water travels but it’s definitely coming from the middle
