No, closer to home.....

Not me or Kev by the way, although we did take a statement from the accused.

I am intrigued now. Someone I might know?

During a test drive this morning at half past eleven a car from car dealer Louwman Exclusive Cars crashed into a tree. That happened at the Proostwetering in Utrecht. The driver was rushed to the hospital.

It was about a man who made a test drive in the Morgan at the time of an accident, a car worth more than 140,000 euros. Car dealer Louwman says he is aware of the accident. ,, The most important thing for us now is how the driver is doing. The car is less relevant at the moment, "says director Arjen van Beek.

The police are investigating the cause of the accident. They also request any witnesses to contact them. The Proostwetering will be closed due to the investigation to time indefinite.

Another translation from a Dutch site, rather sadly it seems as if the drivers health is giving cause for concern I'm amazed that both front wheels detached it must have been an incredible force to have done that. I wish the driver a good recovery.

Autoblog NL

I can see them fitting Airbags to the demonstrators after this - It could have been a lot worse outcome.

The car seems to hit the tree nearly with the radiator - there is no picture from the fron twheels!?
To detach both front wheels in such a situation is strange...

Wouldn’t have happened with a sliding pillar suspension carrot

Quite right Stewart, steel banded wooden wheels would possibly also have helped...

Possibly the “450 bhp” had something to do with it? 🙄. The guy was only a few hundred meters from the dealers...he must have hoofed it and lost control. It’s been said on here a few times, the power and characteristics of the turbo engine really need traction control and looking at this accident...air bags.

Well at least a trad will crumple. Can’t immediately spot the crumple zone in the new CX chassis but those two rigid structural members aligned with the occupants are interesting....
Will/have these cars undergone any form of crash testing?

Hope he’s ok.

Unfortunately crashes like this, will only lead to legislation for ALL cars to be manufactured with modern safety standards. Does not "bode" well for Morgan.
