My advice for what it’s worth (not a lot :-)) is buy the best one you can afford, buying cheap and doing the work yourself almost inevitably costs more in the long run.

I'm well aware that you don't get back what you put in financially but half the fun of owning these cars is tinkering. Not to everyone's taste but I like to do a bit of spannering! But the price must reflect that some work needs doing!

The black one looks a lot of work and as previous member mentioned you can through a lot of money after the Morgan.
Williams are a good company to deal with.
The car looks great for its age.
I travelled a round trip of 500 miles for mine.
It will not be there for long !

Same conclusion here. I don't think it will hang around. At least they are not open at the weekend. Weve got a Christening to host.

Dark British Racing Green tops Connaught any day! I've still got a litre or so of cellulose in that colour.

If it helps I live close to Allon White, so if you need anymore pics or want someone to take a look I am more than happy to.
I am not an expert on these though as I have an Aero, but happy to check anything suggested.

Completely understand your thinking but trust me (and I have owned 2 brand new ones) you will always be tinkering, even a new one, just read some of Dave Wellings superb posts on here. With an older one you have all the benefits of it being none electronic and tamper-proof. Your in for years of fun and project planning. All power to your elbow! I am an old retired and knackered mechanic, just bought a 2012 4/4 and over the last two weeks have probably been working on it for close to 20 hours, at least half of that was sitting in it dreaming.... and that was in between Chemo sessions ROFL.

Can't add much to what has been said (over sprayed bonnet tape, doors do not appear to have pockets).
But those earlier cars are so pretty compared to the current fat-bottomed ones.

out of the three cars linked into this page, the red car looks the best, but as said, make sure you take someone who knows where to look.

Not sure if any have mentioned it but tax exempt on cars is now rolling on a 40 year timetable!

I think the red car at Williams looks tempting. I see they have done a service and some brake work on it. I know its MOT exempt BUT it could always be put in for a new one. Williams mention it had one last year with no advisories so I'd be surprised if they were not happy to get it tested for its new owner. Agree about taking someone along who knows these older versions - but feel a new MOT would offer some peace of mind also.
