After all the trouble with low stock prices Aston seems to have some new plans:
News reports indicate Aston Martin will have a Formula 1 team in 2021. Lance Stroll will allocate funds.
Fake news or solid information?

Well Hannes, they already contribute a lot of sponsor money to Red Bull so perhaps there may be some truth in it but more likely they will take a lead role in what we currently know as Red Bull and re name it Aston Martin F1.

So Aston Martin will be competing with AMG (MB F1) Red Bull on the road and the track whilst using their engines+ in the cars. I can see some "support" going on there then...

Ah, I seem to have got my wires crossed. I thought Aston might take the Red Bull team over but the Racing Point team need some innovation so it will be interesting how it pans out, lets hope it isn't like the Jaguar F1 team when then took over Stewart Ford.

Aston are chasing money and increasing their involvement in F1. Is F1 the money sponge the reason for this chase? Is Stroll setting up a team for his son? Ferrari, Mercedes, are big manufacturers using F1 as a showcase with McClaren following as a manufacturer. Aston would be the 4th manufacturer in the sport as other teams are purely racing companies. Isn’t this a risky step for Aston who have struggled for years yet seem to survive? Jaguar have toyed with F1 a bit too. I can see the link between racing and sports/supercars cars as Charles Morgan tried with the Aero cars for Le Mans and the later Oak Racing link. Still a risky step though...hence Charles’ demise at MMC? Thread drift looming?

Given all the big names are lining up to work out how they can be bigger in FormulaE without hurting the F1 situation in order to look more eco it seems a push. The teams have to be se When you say struggles to survive Peter perhaps a naughty phrase might be “wrecked the trouser pockets of a few good men before”.

Quite possible but a stupid idea. Aston is in trouble for the 8th time because it ran out of money. How does spending multi millions on F1 help that issue. When it was sold on the market the previous venture capitalists had loaded it up with hge debts and not a penny from the float went to pay any debts off. When it floated on the market I said that it would go bust again. It was obvious that it had little to no chance of financial viability. In comparison my Ferrari shares are up 20% in the same time scale.
