Thanks Pete and Alistair. I agree re the mileage...we are likely to be at around a thousand after next weekend and 3000+ probably by the end of April. Have gone for the 5000 limited mileage but checked at the time with broker for process and cost of extending to unlimited if we need to - only likely to add about £60 to the annual cost so we will keep an eye out over the next few months Cheers again HB

Well, it’s coming up to a year since the build of Florence began (Feb 2019) and it’s raining outside so I thought I’d post an update to this thread...mainly for those who perhaps are new to Morgan’s or read but don’t post/join in on TM. Florence arrived at her new home on the 15th March 2019. Was it worth the angst? Was it worth the stress? Was it was worth the lack of sympathy and understanding? Bloody hell (excuse my language) YES. Thrice yes and then some. Whilst I am not a fettler there has been the odd change, with the gratitude of Team HB to the TM Massive for their ideas. These include neck rolls for our seats (big help), fluffy seatbelt cover for Lady HB (much less sore around the collarbone) and an upgraded Alpine stereo plus a separately obtained remote unit that works v well indeed. Oh and she now has a new personalised “MOG” numberplate, which I always said I wouldn’t get (the car not Lady HB). Oh and we had a portrait done by an Italian painter/artist who generally only does Fiat 500s or Alfa’s. We have done only 4500 miles but this was restricted in the last 3 months due to an ankle/hip op in Team HB. During the period we have undertaken trips to Vale of Dean, Yorkshire Dales, North York moors, Devon, Cornwall, Donington, all round East Anglia and the (mainly East) Mids. All as individual holidays and trips. And every bloomin’ second of it was worth the wait. The smiles, the waves, the chats at petrol stations, the photos all show what a fantastic, traditional, welcoming, inclusive brand of car that we share the love of. She hadn’t been washed once, but v regularly has the detailer used in abundance along with the glass cleaner (only using microfibre). She is going in next weekend for her first annual service and, as well as trying to resolve little niggling leaks and things like an inability to fill up without the pump saying “sod off” to me, I am also getting a remote greasing kit fitted as I really am not flexible enough to reach down with those angles!!! Anyone who is contemplating getting a Morgan I have to say you really should go for it. Owning and driving it helps my mental wellbeing massively (though not necessarily my pocket!) and you meet some brilliant, friendly, occasionally doolally, people who know what you are experiencing in respect of the same feelings and emotions! Just go for it (or at least try one for an hour or two). Oh and Lady HB does still think I’m obsessed. Kind regards HB

I was nearly bumped into by a portly farmer at a filling station, whose main memory of Morgans was of crushing one in a breaker's yard in the 60s. One lady said her husband really wanted a Mog, but had some problems, and ended up getting a herd of Herefords instead! And her mother worked at Bletchley Park during the war....

Lovely post HB - it was great to meet you at Donington last year.
Hopefully a return to fitness will see the use and the fun resume soon.

HB my husband and I ordered our Morgan Plus4 110 Anniversary Model in July 19. It is planned that we will be collecting it in March. We got caught up in the "did not pass emissions problems in October 19", then could not collect after that as we were away on our hols, then it was Xmas and New Year and lastly decided to wait for the weather to improve and at the same time get 2020 reg.
My husband seems to be quite calm about the whole thing, however I am starting to wring my hands together as I just cannot cope with the stress of waiting this long to get my wee baby home.
We have joined the Morgan Sportscar Club as well as the Scottish Jock Mog. We have various bits and pieces recorded on sky so that I have have my Morgan five minute fix each evening in an endeavour to keep me sane.
I completely sympathize with you HB and, as for myself, roll on March.

Top notch Elaine. V v v excited for you both 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 And no Jon not washed (#ashamed). Basically have wanted to avoid having to put plastic sheet under the bonnet to keep the engine clean (especially if cleaning after run out) so have found the a quick Detailer pretty handy in terms of bringing the shine out again.... I know it’s wrong but Florence looks bloomin’ lovely in the sunshine 😎😍🥰🥳. Am I saving water thus environmentally friendly with my poor approach? So there, teehee, loud raspberry noise etc 😇 Hugs to all HB

Let me add a vote for "Quick Detailer", I use Maguires (others are available). Tarka is washed a couple of times a year, followed by a proper polish. In between it is a Quick Detailer spray and polish. In the sun she positively glows. And yea, I think that the QD process is probably less of a burden on our environment than the hose and bucket. Tarka was painted by MMC sometime in the late summer of 2013. The paint work is still flawless, I wish the 2017 Mercedes paint work was as good. Morgan know a thing or two about painting cars and they don't skimp the job. Elaine, it will be worth it. The last weeks are always the most uncomfortable, according to my owner.
