Has anybody installed an oil catch can for the PCV system or routed it to the atmosphere? Would love to see some pics, before I do mine...

Just run it to atmosphere -- no need for a fancy catch can. Be sure to plug the hole in the inlet. I don't believe the three wheeler is GDI so it's not vital to do this. Obviously it is for a Plus 4 with the GDI engine because of inlet valve fouling.

Is there some particular problem you are trying to solve? I found more than expected grungy oil film in my intake manifold at about 8500 miles, but reasoned it was to be expected in a port injected engine. Now I just do a spritz of carb cleaner into each port before the warm up run on each oil change and that seems to help keep things clean.
Looking at S&S's breather routing diagram (In their engine manual) shows a closed loop system, which I'm going to say they went to some length to design and specify to deal with the very large crankcase pressure variations in a very big twin. Opening that system to atmosphere would, I believe, create larger positive crankcase pressure spikes with resultant oil seal issues.

one way breather valves work well and reduce crankcase pressure , some bmw bikes are fitted with them as standard , not sure which one , S&S have to comply with emisions for approval with you maybe able to alter now , Harley have exactly the same problem

I have a lot of oil residue within my throttle body every time I clean my air filter. That would not be beneficial for carbon buildup/intake temperature.
The crankcase breather system is a simple hose that connects to the throttle body right before the butterfly valve, so pretty easy to re-route.

the older gold wings route the crankcase tube up to the carbs and are set up to drain the oil into a collector. That way the fumes go through the combustion cycle and the excess oil does not just drop on the roadway.

One of my previous posts shows the set up on my plus 4. I'm not sure how to sh ow the link here and also not sure how useful that is to you. As Griffo says it's not crucial to vent via a can but I felt better doing this. It won't do any harm either way.

Does that spritz effect the o2 sensors negatively?
