Thinking of moving the fuse box to a more accessible location. Possibly through the bulkhead into the engine bay but it may be too damp in there?? Any thoughts anyone.

Hi. Personally I would leave it very much alone. Beside the possibility of water ingress you mention, the thought of extending all the cables and the associated possibility of dodgy joints, I believe you are asking for trouble ?? Just my opinion, regards, John.

Sorry Arwyn, its a 1988 4/4.

I think the move could be achieved with some gentle rearranging of the wires as the fuse box is bolted to the bulkhead so not far to stretch everything to the other side. With advancing years its a struggle to deal with anything under the dash.

The earlier 4/4's had the fuse box on the bulkhead (engine side) so I don't think there would be an issue with water/damp etc.

I would leave well alone for the reasons already stated. But if I did it I guess I would buy a new box with better weather protection

How often does your fuses blow?
I have had my 4/4 for 7 years and never had one blow .
I would leave it alone or make sure you take plenty of photos before you move it !
