Living the dream today...

After weeks of rain, or so it seems, I took Tarka out for a run up from Salisbury to Teddington to meet a client. This was the first proper run since the final tweeks to the suspension upgrade designed by SSL.
It was a hood up run out, hood down on the way back, mostly motorway and urban driving, so would a "tin top" have been better? Honestly, for one person NO.

Tarka now rides as well, if not better, than the AMG, and is a lot more fun. It is warm, comfortable, the radio works well, and it is just a nice place to be.

On the way back, between the start of the M3 and the M25 junction, I had a little "game of acceleration" with a new Aston Martin.
I kept up.... somestick

A couple of photos...

Stopped at Fleet services for McDonalds finest breakfast. I'm very partial to the bagel with sausage, egg and cheese...just something about it. Less than £4.00 including coffee and a hash brown...!!

Driving back on the M3... It would be nice if other drivers understood lane discipline and safe spacing. I get fed up with some numpty slotting in the gap, forcing me to drop back... or move to the left and then undertake. Wrong, I know, but road capacity would be so much greater if people actually used their brains. Rant over...

Oh yes: WARNING: Kingston upon Thames and Tedding area is now mostly 20mph limits and it is being enforced. WHY???

Lovely looking Plus 8, Peter. Beautiful colour.

Kingston and environs has always had loony traffic policies. Another loony area is Amersham, Bucks where they have a mania for pointless mini-roundabouts every 10 yards. They do it in the hope that you will be caught then have to pay a fine to maintain the useless, inefficient, corrupt local authority. Sorry - I'm an anarchist at heart.

I had the misfortune to be in Kingston recently.... it is not how I remember it in the early 80's.

Indeed not.
As a lad Kingston was the most exciting place in the world, or so it seemed. Bentalls: their wall of Colour TVs when we had B&W...
I used to go there to get my hair cut and buy "essentials for the weekend"....!!

It has all changed. Not for the better.
In Teddington the old Haymarket office block is now super posh apartments, across Park Street from the NPL.

But I wasn't driving a Morgan then...!

Rolls Royce Metallic Bronze from the early 2000s.
Chosen by James Gilbert as the colour for the 2014 Morgan Show and Demonstration car.
I loved it the first time I saw it, and still do. At 6 years old it still looks as new...

I need to find a different phone mount so the camera doesn't see it.
But it is a picture that captures the fun of Mogging, even on the M3....

A nice 80 or so mile run to the Horseshoe in Cockfield for the FolkMog lunch. Top down the drive was great. It was good to see the early blossom & bulbs in bloom.

Great well attended lunch, counted thirteen Mogs including a first +6 seen in the wild. On swmbo 's insistance I was allowed only to view but not smell the blooms, in deference to the bad hair day she was having frown
