Rutter has been making many items out of faux burl for some time. If one mixes (and runs) different paints you can come up with a pseudo burl finish on plastic or stainless. Ingenious.

It IS...the first time. However, there can be overkill in that direction. One of our color combos, which my wife and I spent a winter picking, became very popular with the Factory when the car was rebuilt there. At last count, it has been copied 50-60 times in the last 4 years and appeared on two brochures. Doesn't feel so special after that.

Arian has now covered 2,200 kms, with the 'longest' single non - stop run of close on 600 clicks from Angouleme back to Caen(5Hrs). The 'Outward' journey took a more leisurely route - 8 hrs including a Lunch Break - via Laval, Angers, Saumur and Partheney.

The 'newer' breed of cars are certainly on a different level to the old 'Roughriders'; after 600 clicks, I could have carried on driving without any trouble. Quality is also generally to a much higher standard. The 'Hood' is a vast improvement as I was forced to use it on my arrival back in the UK on Monday - non stop rain from P'mouth to Little Hallingbury and a 12 mile queue t the Dartford Tunnel; wet knees and soaking carpets by the time I arrived.

Only one slight problem mechanically with the car. It won't start on a slope - upward or downward facing! Unfortuately, the floor in Uncle Melvyn's is flat.......... A problem was discovered with the immobilizer after my 'Shake Down' Drive of 200 kms the day prior to heading for the Ferry. This was found to be the distance between the key Transponder/Immobilizer Receiver. Stalling the car will also cause a similar 'fast' flashing of the Immobilizer warning light, but provided the car is on the flat it can, normally be re - started by following the 'diesel' starting procedure.

Awaiting report from Melvyn as to what they have found.

On the basis of 'past' Morgans, 10 out of 10. The engine problem has to to be viewed as a separate issue.

Glad all is going well (apart from immobiliser)...are you itching to get to a time when you can start tuning Arian, once the warranty period is over?!
