Mike Lempert made the wheel. It’s English walnut with design inspiration from a 1930s Bugatti steering wheel.

Gorgeous. His did you paint the plastic? Simply sand and paint with plastic paint? Those metal dash fillers are also very nice looking. I had seen something like that for sale at mogparts.net . Where did you source yours?

Hi Bluesman,
The plastic steering wheel hub was professionally painted at one of our local shops.
I drew the dashboard insert templates including tach/speedo cutouts and drill holes on thick paper. Sent to FPM Metals in Nebraska. They laser cut the dashboard panels out of stainless steel and engine turned. I designed the tach/speedo bezels on paper. They were milled out of solid stainless steel and polished by local artisans. I also had to redesign the the tach/speedo mounting brackets behind the dashboard and had them cut out and drilled by local metal workers.

The current reviews of Lempert delivery are not very favorable. Some nice looking wheels, but...
