Can anyone confirm if a 1.8 engine fitted to a 2007 4/4 will run on E10 fuel?
I've seen a report showing that E10 can't be used with the Ford 1.8 Duratec SCI engine.

I have run my 2006 Roadster on E10 but not often. So far no issues.

This may be of interest from the FBHVC position statemen:

The following question was posed to the Secretary of State for Transport by Sir Greg Knight, Conservative MP for East Yorkshire: “To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment he has made of the potential effect of the use of E10 fuel on older vehicles?”

Which received the following response from Rachel Maclean, Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Transport):

“Increasing the share of bioethanol in petrol by blending up to 10 per cent, known as E10, could provide significant carbon savings, helping us meet our climate change commitments. One of the main barriers to introducing E10 has been vehicle compatibility. Currently, around 95% of petrol cars used in the UK can use E10, but around 700,000 are not warranted by their manufacturers to use E10. This number is expected to decrease as vehicles come to the end of their life. However, some classic and cherished vehicles that are not advised to use E10 will remain in use. The prolonged use of E10 fuel in those older and classic vehicles not under manufacturer warranty can cause corrosion of some rubbers and alloys used in the engine and fuel systems. For those vehicles, the Department remains committed to ensuring that E5 is retained as a protection grade, if E10 is introduced.”

Have a look at Ford owners websites. As with TM for Morgan cars they would know for Fords.

I will certainly be using it in my 2012 car Phil, same engine.

As long as it is still offered I fill up super plus 98 octane for my Sigma 4/4. the machine runs much smoother and more fluid than even with E5 95 octane. And the milage is better. I hope that E5 98 octane will still be available if 95 octane is only sold as E10.

All BMW Engines since 1986 are rated to use E10, so not a problem for any Aero driver.

Generally the second hald of the 80s seems to be when most manufacturers made engines E10 compatible.

Peter's right, some manufacturers designed ethanol (& the like) compatibility with the introduction of Fuel Injection, one very learned classic MTW owner wrote a good article some years ago dispelling many of the urban myths - I'll try & find it
