Congratulations Ivo, I too recently let my heart manage my choice. I wasn't even thinking about Morgan ownership the week before! Like me I'm sure you look at the keys or out the window and know it is the right choice😁

Hi my friends. The good news is, the +8 is on the road The bad news is, it already got involved in an accident. Nothing heavy but still... Right after the registration, I stopped at a petrol station. As I wanted to start filling up, I noticed, that my car „jumped“ a bit. A lady with her SUV came from the other side of the petrol pumps and her front wheel bent my bumper Luckily, I was there at that moment so I could stop her. I think, that the lady would have continued her movement and leave me with a big surprise, because she stated, that she did not notice anything and that her „beepers“ did not warn her. At first sight, it‘s just the bumper with the attachments, so I can continue driving while waiting for the parts. That really is not fair. Hopefully your luck will now improve.

First of all, your first photo looks just fantastic! This story is very very annoying. Maybe the good in the bad is that this woman pulled out the bumper and didn't push it into the fender. Nevertheless, I would have a close look at it to see if there are any invisible damages that could affect the mounting of the bumper under the chassis.

Tomorrow, I will drive to my dealer and we will have a closer look. There was no speed involved, so I‘m confident, that the rest is OK, The SUV’s tire „cramped into“ the bumper‘s edge and pushed it forward and down.

Ivo, I know how you feel, I paid for covered transport because I purchased my car in December from a dealer in the south of England, and of course it got some paint damage from the holding down strap whilst on the move. It's bad enough if you damage your car yourself but really frustrating if someone else does it for you. It did sour the first drive in my Morgan but it is soon forgotten, hopefully you will have better luck from now on.

People who rely on "beepers" should not be driving, especially SUVs.

That‘s correct, Dave. At least, they should not damage other people‘s cars I did not go to my dealer today. The insurance expert, must see the damage, so I’ll wait until then. To keep the car on the road, until the repairs are done, I removed the bumper, and installed a holder, with my number plate, on the bumper attachments: Doing that, I noticed, that the left one (looking at the picture) is higher, than the right one. You can see it, when looking at the bolt heads. To „maintain“ the damage, didn’t bend it in place (which could have been easily done), but I played around a bit with the holder and the number plate, to make it look less obvious. I suppose, that, when backing up, the SUV‘s tire thread lifted the bumper and bent the attachment. I also noticed, that both attachments are about 3mm to the right which makes the number plate location a bit off the center (again looking at the picture). But everything underneath looks straight, so, probably, it came that way from the factory . Plus, the Impact did not come from the side. Sunny greetings, Ivo
