very reassuring that the car itself looks fine. Visually, this is also possible without a bumper, but the full bumper suits your Plus 8 very well. It is not a big problem, the insurance of the ignorant SUV driver will take care of it. Ivo, it is not a negative omen, it is the initial elimination of possible bad vibes.

Thank you Heinz I said something similar and, that this was the only incident, for the next 20 years to come Yes, I really like the long bumper with my car. I did not order one for my Roadster at the time, because, then, it looked too much „old style“ for me. But with the +8, with the wide body and the classical dark green, it is simply perfect.

Ivo, sorry to see your bent bumper though fortunately looks to be an easy fix, hopefully soon to be fixed and forgotten.

That‘s correct, Dave. At least, they should not damage other people‘s cars I did not go to my dealer today. The insurance expert, must see the damage, so I’ll wait until then. To keep the car on the road, until the repairs are done, I removed the bumper, and installed a holder, with my number plate, on the bumper attachments: Doing that, I noticed, that the left one (looking at the picture) is higher, than the right one. You can see it, when looking at the bolt heads. To „maintain“ the damage, didn’t bend it in place (which could have been easily done), but I played around a bit with the holder and the number plate, to make it look less obvious. I suppose, that, when backing up, the SUV‘s tire thread lifted the bumper and bent the attachment. I also noticed, that both attachments are about 3mm to the right which makes the number plate location a bit off the center (again looking at the picture). But everything underneath looks straight, so, probably, it came that way from the factory . Plus, the Impact did not come from the side. Sunny greetings, Ivo I hope the insurance expert saw the damage before you removed the bumper? Bloody annoying when these things happen because of others carelessness, hope you get it all sorted quickly.

You may have seen this post in the „Have you driven“ thread: Yes, I drove my +8 today, unfortunately, for the last time... I‘m fine, the car not so. I think, the universe does not want me to own a Morgan. Two complete write-off‘s, within two years, with no injury at all, I think that is a clear sign. I really loved my yellow „Bumble Bee“ Roadster and I was very sad, when it had to be written off, after the accident, two years ago. And I was happy, to find the +8, but it did not really grow on me. And, each time I wanted do drive it, I thought: Will it start? Will it not brake down? I mean… therere were enough „situations“. I loved the exhaust note, I loved, the thumbs up, but I never got attached to it, the same way as to the yellow in which I had full confidence. Long story short… and, you might want to beat me, for my decision… I bought a Mazda MX5. It‘s a 2 litre, 185hp roadster and it is an unbelievable fun to drive. So… Sunny greetings from Luxembourg, Ivo

Congratulations, Ivo. My son has an NA for 7 years, which he loves and cares for, and my son-in-law drives a 2.0 ND since three years, albeit with the older engine. They are fantastic cars. Have fun and enjoy your new MX5!
