My dealer thinks I will get away with it - but I will let you know cop

I have black and silver plates on the back as well. The front transfer plate is going to be re-applied when I go back to the dealer. Its a little creased. Certainly gives a retro look, though.

Car looks great. I've had traditional plates on mine for 6 years, only mentioned once by an officer but the Judge never did notworthy

Not to my knowledge and yes they do look nice.
I used to run my 2003 4/4 with black and silver plates, until I followed another Morgan on a dual carriageway at night. It was carrying similar B & S plates.
You could barely see the car and since then, I run with reflective plates.
(My registration number is a local Devon plate that came from a 1958 Austin A35 so 3 letters and 3 numbers)

Black and Whites on a 'non historic' is potentially a £1000 fine, and is an MOT failure.

That's true and all it takes is one grumpy copper. But the experience of most drivers seems to be that its unlikely. When it's MOT time I'll simply swap the plates for the yellow reflective ones.
